Pushkar, y un jeep hacia las dunas detrás

El lago y el templo
Los hindúes sostienen que el lago se formó donde Brahma dejó caer un loto, y este es el principal templo de Brahma en cualquier lugar, hay quizás una docena en el mundo, porque Brahma casi nunca es venerado directamente.
Cincuenta y dos ghats rodean el agua, cada uno construido por un gobernante o familia noble distinta, y los peregrinos se bañan en ellos al amanecer y al atardecer.
El templo de Brahma data del siglo 14 en su forma actual sobre un sitio mucho más antiguo, subiendo unos escalones de mármol. Los zapatos se quitan bastante antes de la entrada; el cuero se queda en el coche.
Una advertencia que vale la pena: los hombres en los ghats ofrecerán una bendición del "pasaporte de Pushkar" y luego exigirán una donación grande, a veces con insistencia. Un no firme y educado basta.
Templo de Savitri

El safari en jeep
Hacia las dunas y el semidesierto alrededor del pueblo, normalmente por la tarde. Una pequeña zona de arena genuina, no el verdadero Thar, que está más al oeste, con pueblos rajput y bishnoi, y antílopes y gacelas alrededor de los asentamientos bishnoi.

Ravi was een heel fijne gids die ons de hele dag van tips heeft voorzien. Niets was hem te veel. We hadden de all inclusive tour naar Pushkar geboekt. Nadat we Pushkar hadden bezocht hebben we nog bijna 1,5 uur op een kameel gereden. Geweldig! Ravi was er al om 07.00 uur en bracht ons om 22.00 uur terug naar het hotel. Het was een vriendelijke gids die ons veel heeft verteld. We voelden ons veilig bij hem in de auto. Mochten we ooit weer in Jaipur zijn dan willen we Ravi graag weer als gids.
Ayan picked us up from our hotel, drove us to Pushka, looked after us and our belongings in his car whilst we were taken around by a guide of who he sorted for us! Ayan also sorted our lunch at a lovely spot with amazing food before heading to ride some camels to watch the sunset. And after all of that, he drive us all the way right to the front of our hotel in Jaipur. He was brilliant, friendly and we highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience on our Pushkar tour! The driver Navratan was absolutely incredible extremely kind, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. He explained so many interesting things about the culture and places we visited, while also giving us the freedom to enjoy everything at our own pace. We had been dealing with some stomach issues during our trip, and he was incredibly thoughtful about it, always making sure we were careful with what we ate and that we were comfortable throughout the day. His kindness and genuine care went above and beyond what we expected. He truly made the experience special and was a 5-star professional from beginning to end. I had a great day out with Ravi the driver, he was very good at explaining various aspects of Indian life during the journey. Also Monu the guide in Pushkar was very talkative and thoroughly answered all my questions.
The tour manager (and owner of the company) was very kind and warned us about the possible scams that might happen to tourists in the place. The car was completely new and very clean. The driver waited for us at the different stops and made sure we were fine. The manger provided a very good service and I would definitely recommend to discover jaipur with the services of his company
