Primero Hawa Mahal, y por qué las ventanas son lo importante
Los jharokhas, 953 de ellos en cinco plantas, no estaban ahí para lucir bonitos. Estaban ahí para mirar hacia fuera.
El edificio se levantó en 1799 como extensión del zenana del City Palace, para que las mujeres de la corte pudieran observar las procesiones en la calle y la vida diaria sin ser vistas desde la carretera. El purdah hacía la calle invisible para ellas; este edificio se la devolvió.
El enrejado también funciona como aire acondicionado: pequeñas aberturas aceleran el flujo de aire y bajan la temperatura en los pasillos de atrás, de ahí el nombre Palacio de los Vientos. En una ciudad que alcanza los 45°C, eso era ingeniería más que poesía.
También tiene apenas un metro de profundidad en la mayor parte de su altura. Casi no hay edificio detrás de la fachada.
City Palace
Iniciado en 1729 por Jai Singh II en el centro de la ciudad que estaba trazando. Parte sigue siendo residencia de la familia real, la bandera sobre el Chandra Mahal te indica si están presentes.
Pritam Niwas Chowk tiene cuatro puertas, cada una para una estación y una deidad hindú; la puerta del pavo real es la que todos fotografían. Los museos albergan trajes reales, armas y manuscritos, y el Diwan-i-Khas alberga las dos urnas de plata, los objetos de plata más grandes del mundo, hechas para que Madho Singh II pudiera llevar agua del Ganges a Inglaterra.
Jantar Mantar
Diecinueve instrumentos astronómicos de mampostería construidos en la década de 1730, catalogado por la UNESCO. El reloj de sol Samrat Yantra mide 27 metros de altura, su sombra se mueve seis centímetros por minuto, y todavía marca la hora local con una precisión de unos dos segundos.

Another great tour by local guide Vivek with driver Manish! I'd booked the Jaipur street food tour with Vivek before, and he did such a good job I knew he was the best person to take me round the key Jaipur attractions. He customised the itinerary based on my interests which was perfect. He is very knowledgeable, being a Jaipur local, so he was able to tell me more about the history of each place as well as some fun facts which helped my understanding. Also a big bonus is he's a photographer, so he can give you some good tips for your photos. Having the car made it easier to travel around and see many places in one day. All in all a well organised, fun day. I'd highly recommend a tour with Vivek!

It was excellent tour with our guide who showed us important places in Jaipur and took us the the local restaurant. I enjoyed also pink city and the local crafts.
