Conducido por mujeres, que es lo importante
Los rickshaws de este tour son eléctricos, y las conductoras son mujeres formadas y empleadas a través de un programa que las puso al volante en un oficio casi completamente masculino en la India.
Esto no es una frase de marketing añadida a un tour corriente, la conductora es la persona con la que pasas el día, y la tarifa es su ingreso.
Por qué un e-rickshaw
Silencioso, lo que cambia la ciudad vieja por completo: escuchas la calle en lugar de un motor. Sin humo, en una ciudad con un verdadero problema de calidad del aire. Y lo bastante pequeño para callejuelas donde nada más cabe.
La ciudad amurallada
Jai Singh II trazó Jaipur en 1727 sobre una cuadrícula de nueve cuadrados tomada de tratados arquitectónicos hindúes, la primera ciudad planificada de la India, con anchos de calle fijados por norma y cada oficio asignado a su propia manzana. Desde un rickshaw abierto a paso de caminata, ese plano es visible.
Chhoti Chopad y Badi Chopad, los grandes cruces. Las puertas pintadas, y los havelis detrás de ellas, la mayoría todavía habitados.
Hawa Mahal desde la calle de enfrente, 953 ventanas, cinco plantas, apenas un metro de profundidad, construido en 1799 para que las mujeres de la corte pudieran observar las procesiones sin ser vistas. Hay algo que vale la pena notar en ver ese edificio desde un rickshaw conducido por una mujer.
City Palace y Jantar Mantar, y los bazares: Johari para piedras preciosas, Tripolia para pulseras de laca hechas sobre una llama frente a ti, Bapu Bazaar para estampado en bloque y zapatillas mojari.
Y los pequeños templos dentro de las manzanas residenciales que no ven visitantes en absoluto.

El tour en e-rickshaw con tu conductora, o lo mismo con un guía con licencia también, elige el guía si quieres que te expliquen los monumentos en lugar de solo llegar a ellos.

Great day with the guide KK, e rickshaw driver Kumal and car driver Gulfan! KK was very informative, while making the tour interesting and also quizzing me every now and then on my memory and general knowledge! super fun! there was a slight misunderstanding on which tour I booked, so started off with e rickshaw. once they realised, immediately solved it by sending a car while taking me to a good Rajasthani lunch spot. As a solo traveler I also felt super safe and protected. overall, highly recommend! it's also nice to know my money went to supporting local low income household women.
Kumal was an excellent driver, very pleasant kind and courteous. My wife and I really enjoyed our day out and it didn’t feel rushed. She helped us take couple photos and treated us to some chai. We felt very relaxed on this trip which was exactly what we needed. The male drivers have been quite pushy during our first week in India so this was a breath of fresh air. The women driver program is very welcomed approach in India for foreigners. Highly recommended.
KK, my guide was really knowledgeable and made my visit unforgettable. My driver Suresh was very polite and patient. I only had 1 day in Jaipur and both of them made it magical. I was offered a car instead of q rickshaw because of the hot weather! (May)

We had a wonderful day in Jaipur, our driver was probably the best we had in India so far and our guide Khalid was incredibly nice and helpful. The itinerary was well structured and we appreciated the room for flexibility. 10/10 would do again!

Prompt pick up from our driver Suraj. He was polite and welcoming. He took us from our apartment as it wasn't in the proximity of the rickshaw ride but he did provide the option of seeing the amber fort which, again, isn't within the proximity for the rickshaw ride so this was very much appreciated it. We then went into the pink city itself where we met the wonderful women named Baby. She drove the rickshaw around the pink city. showing us the sites, allowing us to see how people really live within Jaipur. We were able to stop at places of interests and have a look around at our own pace and we were taken to we asked to stop for lunch and was taken to a restaurant. unfortunately we weren't feeling 100% today so opted for a light meal but it was nice, the food other customers had ordered that was brought put freshly made looked and smelt amazing. We finished our tour with Baby drinking a massala tea. Was an interesting tour. It was really empowering and happy we could support women
I liked the punctual pick up, the friendliness and professionalism of the lady driver, and the fact that my custom helped in a small way the employment of women, from disadvantage socio economic background, some of which are the only breadwinners in their homes, due to unemployed husbands from alcohol abuse or other causes.
This is a great day tour of Jaipur. We were able to see all the main sites, and I completely fell in love with the city. This tour also supports women drivers which is amazing, as you don’t see that often. And as a solo female traveller I loved having this option and really appreciate this initiative. Highly recommend exploring the pink city with this tour!
