Terminar el día en la colina sobre la ciudad.

Esta es una visita corta organizada alrededor de una sola cosa: estar en el Fuerte Nahargarh cuando se pone el sol. Nahargarh está en la cresta Aravalli y domina Jaipur entera; desde las murallas la ciudad amurallada completa se extiende abajo con las colinas de Amer detrás. Es la mejor vista de la ciudad y está mejor en la última hora de luz, cuando la arenisca rosa de abajo se vuelve rosa de verdad.

Antes de eso, dos paradas que encajan en el camino de subida.

El Fuerte Amer, el palacio-fortaleza del siglo dieciséis sobre el lago Maota, con la sala de espejos Sheesh Mahal y la puerta Ganesh Pol.

Panna Meena ka Kund, a cinco minutos de Amer y saltado por casi todas las visitas. Es un pozo escalonado de ocho plantas del siglo dieciséis, con escaleras simétricas que se cruzan bajando al agua por los cuatro lados. Se fotografía extraordinariamente bien y normalmente no hay casi nadie. Ya no se pueden bajar los escalones, algo que conviene saber antes de llegar con ese plan.

El horario lo es todo. La visita está construida hacia atrás desde el atardecer, así que la hora de salida cambia a lo largo del año. La confirmamos para su fecha.
Nahargarh tiene una cafetería en las murallas si quiere sentarse con la vista antes que fotografiarla e irse.
La carretera que sube a Nahargarh es estrecha y con curvas. Va bien en coche y lenta con tráfico; salir con margen importa.
Dos horas son justas para tres paradas. Si quiere tiempo real en Amer, tome mejor los días completos de Jaipur y trate esta como el añadido de atardecer que es.
