Dos cosas aquí, y el trayecto es de verdad la mitad. Las familias reales de Jaipur mantenían grandes flotas de coches de antes de la guerra, y varios sobreviven en manos privadas. Cruzar la ciudad en uno de ellos al anochecer no tiene nada que ver con un taxi, y es la razón de lo que cuesta.

Chokhi Dhani

Una aldea rajastaní recreada a las afueras de Jaipur, en funcionamiento desde 1990. Es turística y lo asume del todo, y también es genuinamente divertida. Bailarines folclóricos, la danza kalbeliya de los encantadores de serpientes, marionetas, acróbatas, artistas del fuego, paseos en camello y en elefante, magos, adivinos y henna.

La cena es un thali rajastaní comido sentado en el suelo, servido en cuencos de acero y repuesto hasta que uno los detiene físicamente. Dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, roti de bajra con ghee, churma, y suero de leche sin límite. De verdad bueno y de verdad interminable.
