Un safari, et retour à votre hôtel de Jaipur le soir même.

Ranthambore est à environ quatre heures de Jaipur. En faire une excursion d'une journée signifie un safari au lieu de deux, et cela compte : les observations dépendent de la zone, du moment et de la chance, donc une seule tentative est une proposition réellement différente de deux. Ce que vous gardez, c'est votre hôtel et votre programme.

Le parc

Bâti autour d'un fort du Xe siècle, avec une forêt sèche de feuillus qui a poussé alentour. De vieilles portes, des chhatris et un puits à degrés sont dispersés dans la réserve, ce qui donne à Ranthambore une allure qu'aucun autre parc indien n'a.

Il abrite une véritable population de tigres, et les animaux y sont habitués aux véhicules, ce qui explique les taux d'observation. Également le léopard, l'ours lippu, le sambar, le crocodile des marais, et une longue liste d'oiseaux.

Bon à savoir

Le parc ferme du 1er juillet au 30 septembre pour la mousson. Les zones 6 à 10 restent parfois ouvertes ; les zones centrales, non.
Les créneaux de safari sont attribués par l'État, limités, et partent vite en saison et autour des fêtes indiennes. Réservez le plus tôt possible.
La zone est assignée par le département des forêts, elle ne se choisit pas. Personne ne peut honnêtement en demander une en particulier.
Aucun tigre n'est garanti. Tout prestataire qui en promet un mentira.
Quatorze heures de porte à porte, dont huit de route, pour un seul safari. Si vous pouvez libérer une nuit, la version de deux jours double à peu près vos chances.
