Our guide met us right at the hotel and had clearly done this a thousand times. What made it special was the stories, the legends behind Amer Fort and the meaning of Hawa Mahal's little windows that I'd never have known alone. Booking the full-day option meant we never felt rushed. Worth every rupee for the history alone.

We took the full day with car and it was the smart choice. No haggling with drivers, tolls and parking all handled, and cold water waiting in the car after the Amer Fort climb. Our guide bought the monument tickets with us so we skipped the worst of the lines. Jantar Mantar suddenly made sense once he explained the instruments.

Genuinely good guide who knew every corner of the City Palace and found us great photo angles at Hawa Mahal. Only honest gripe is that Amer Fort was absolutely packed by the time we got there mid-morning, so I'd urge people to start earlier than we did. Still learned a huge amount and would recommend the private format.

Precise, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable about Rajput architecture, which is exactly what I wanted. The stepwell at Panna Meena ka Kund was a highlight I hadn't even heard of. Gaitor Ki Chhatriyan was peaceful and empty of tourists. Having a government-approved guide really shows in the depth of the commentary.

We did the half-day guide since our time was short and it covered the icons perfectly. Our guide adjusted the pace for my mother, who can't manage many stairs, and found her places to sit at Amer Fort. The bazaar walk afterwards was lovely and he helped us get fair prices on textiles without any pressure.

Excellent guide with real passion for Jaipur's history and great instincts for photography. The heat in April was brutal by early afternoon, so parts of the Pink City walk felt a touch rushed as we all wilted. Not the tour's fault at all, just plan for the season. The morning at Hawa Mahal and Amer Fort was superb.
