Deux arrêts que la plupart des excursions sautent

Le circuit standard de Jaipur compte cinq sites et tout le monde le parcourt. Celui-ci ajoute Panna Meena ka Kund et Gaitor ki Chhatriyan, et c'est pourquoi il vaut la peine de lire au-delà du titre.

Panna Meena ka Kund est un puits à degrés du XVIe siècle en dessous du fort d'Amber : des escaliers symétriques qui s'entrecroisent en descendant huit étages dans le sol, bâtis pour que le village atteigne l'eau en toute saison. Il se photographie comme un dessin d'Escher et il est presque toujours calme, parce que les cars ne s'y arrêtent pas. On ne peut pas descendre jusqu'à l'eau, et il ne faut pas essayer.

Gaitor ki Chhatriyan est le lieu de crémation des maharajas Kachwaha, un jardin clos de cénotaphes de marbre sculpté au pied de la colline de Nahargarh. Jai Singh II, qui a fondé la ville et bâti l'observatoire, est ici. Très peu de visiteurs le sont.

Le Hawa Mahal : la façade en nid d'abeille de 953 fenêtres, un écran pour les femmes de la cour plutôt qu'un palais.

Le fort d'Amber : le complexe perché au-dessus du lac Maota, avec la chambre aux miroirs Sheesh Mahal et la porte Ganesh Pol.

Le Jal Mahal : un arrêt photo sur la route du lac, sans entrée.

Le City Palace : cours, armurerie et textiles, encore en partie résidence royale.

Le Jantar Mantar : l'observatoire de pierre inscrit à l'UNESCO, avec le plus grand cadran solaire en maçonnerie du monde.

Comment y aller

Prise en charge et retour depuis sept points répartis dans Delhi NCR, dont le vieux Delhi, Gurugram et Greater Noida, ce qui évite le taxi habituel à travers la ville avant l'aube. C'est une longue journée, comptez seize heures de porte à porte, et le trajet fait environ quatre heures et demie dans chaque sens.
