L'étape du Triangle d'Or qui cesse d'être un simple trajet.

Jaipur-Agra fait environ 240 km et la plupart des gens en font une journée de transfert : cinq heures en voiture, rien à en retirer. Ranthambore se trouve à peu près entre les deux, donc avec une nuit vous convertissez cette journée perdue en safari tigre et vous arrivez quand même à Agra.

Ranthambore est l'une des réserves de tigres les plus connues d'Inde, bâtie autour d'un fort du Xe siècle avec la forêt qui a poussé alentour. Elle abrite une véritable population de tigres, et contrairement à certains parcs les animaux y sont habitués aux véhicules, ce qui explique le taux d'observation. Vous y trouvez aussi le léopard, l'ours lippu, le sambar, le crocodile et un très grand nombre d'oiseaux.

Comment cela se déroule

Transfert privé climatisé de Jaipur à Ranthambore, une nuit dans la zone du parc, safari en canter ou en gypsy, puis route vers Agra. Vos bagages voyagent avec vous tout du long, il n'y a donc pas de retour à Jaipur.

Ranthambore ferme du 1er juillet au 30 septembre pour la mousson. Les zones 6 à 10 restent parfois ouvertes ; les zones centrales, non.
Les créneaux de safari sont limités et attribués par l'État. Ils partent bien à l'avance en saison, surtout d'octobre à mars et autour des fêtes indiennes. Réservez le plus tôt possible.
Une observation de tigre n'est pas garantie et personne d'honnête ne vous la promettra. Les taux d'observation sont bons et varient selon la zone, et la zone est attribuée par le département des forêts, elle ne se choisit pas.
Les safaris du matin sont plus froids et généralement meilleurs pour les observations. L'aube en décembre est franchement froide en véhicule ouvert ; prévoyez des couches.
Le Taj Mahal est fermé le vendredi, prévoyez donc votre arrivée à Agra en conséquence.
