The useful thing here is the range. If you only want Amber Fort, there is an option for that. If you only want the City Palace cluster inside the walled city, there is one for that too. And if you want everything, the full day covers it.
Amber Fort
Built from 1592 above Maota Lake. The Sheesh Mahal, where thousands of convex mirror tiles multiply a single flame across the whole room. The painted Ganesh Pol gateway. And the Sukh Niwas, cooled by water channels cut through the marble — air conditioning built in the sixteenth century on a hilltop, which is an engineering achievement before it is a decorative one. Two to three hours on its own.
The walled city
City Palace, still partly lived in by the royal family, with the two sterling silver urns in the Diwan-i-Khas that remain the largest single silver objects ever made. Jantar Mantar, whose 27-metre sundial is still accurate to two seconds. Hawa Mahal, the 953-window facade — and going inside, which most visitors skip.
