What stands out among these options is the one pairing Amber Fort with the hidden stepwells — because the stepwells are the part of Jaipur that almost no standard itinerary includes and the part photographers come back for.
Amer Fort
From 1592, above Maota Lake. The Sheesh Mahal mirror chamber, the painted Ganesh Pol, and the Sukh Niwas cooled by water channels cut through the marble.
The stepwells
Panna Meena ka Kund, five minutes below Amer, is sixteenth-century, eight storeys deep, with criss-crossing symmetrical staircases descending on all four sides. It photographs better than almost anything in Rajasthan and there is usually nobody there. The steps are closed to walking now, so it is a view rather than a descent.

City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, and Jal Mahal on the lake, depending on the option and the hours you have.
