A German-speaking guide, which is rarer than it sounds
Jaipur's licensed guides are certified in specific languages, and outside English and Hindi you have to book ahead — at the gate you will not find one. This listing carries a German option explicitly, which is worth knowing if that is your language.
Tuk-tuk or car
A tuk-tuk is open on both sides, gets down the old-city lanes, and from October to March is the better ride. A car is air-conditioned and is the sensible choice from April onward.
Pick by the month rather than the price.
Amber Fort
The first stop and the biggest. Begun in 1592 by Raja Man Singh in the pale sandstone of the Aravallis, on a ridge above Maota Lake.
The Ganesh Pol gateway, painted plaster over stone. The Sheesh Mahal, where convex mirror fragments set into the ceiling turned one candle into a ceiling full of stars. The Sukh Niwas, cooled by water channels running through its marble walls.
A tuk-tuk makes the climb up the ramp, slowly.
Jal Mahal
A photo stop from the causeway. Four of five storeys underwater; there is no boat, whatever you are offered.
City Palace
Mughal and Rajput architecture across courtyards, part of it still the royal family's residence.
Jantar Mantar
Nineteen masonry astronomical instruments from the 1730s, UNESCO-listed, with a 27-metre sundial still accurate to about two seconds. A guide matters here more than anywhere else in the city.
Hawa Mahal
The five-storey screen of 953 windows on Sireh Deori Bazaar, best from the street opposite in the morning.
Four options

Entrance fees are paid at each site — roughly ₹1,500 a head for a foreign adult across the main monuments.

We met Ashwini at Hawa Mahal, and from there, it was a journey into the past. He has amazing knowledge, and it was a fun experience. He is soft-spoken with great patience and also has a basic understanding of almost 4-5 languages. One of Ashwini's most amazing qualities is that he is a great photographer and is always ready to click the best pictures of you so you can cherish the memories. He also has amazing analytical skills and knowledge of all the time measurement tools at Jantar Mantar. I hope I can have Ashwini again when I return to Jaipur. It was a wonderful experience we will always reimender . Hitesh was a very engaged and indirekt g Guide who Knies a lot about all Monuments and history. He made us Feed very vonfirtable as he wanted to give us all Information we wanzen to get. As he is very international it was easy to Connect with hin. We highly tecommend hin as a Guide!!!
We booked the tour without a guide, however Nadeem the driver explained a lot and answered all our questions -he was super friendly and flexible with the pickup time and adjusting the stops throughout the tour. We enjoyed the day with him.

We had a fabulous 4 hour tour with gorav and driver ravi. They took us to all the top sights we asked to go to and we learned lots about the history of the monuments. Anything we asked for they did and were very respectful of how we wanted the tour to progress which was really appreciated as we were on a tight schedule.
The tour started on time and both the guide (Narendra) and driver (Imran) were polite and professional. We got to see the attractions in our own time, without them hassling about time. Narendra explained about the monuments and the story behind it very well, asking questions to keep us engaged and attentive. Overall the activities were worth to experience and we had an amazing time
What an incredible day! We highly recommend this experience. We joined the half-day Tuk-Tuk tour of Jaipur with Hanis, and it was absolutely fantastic. Hanis is not only a skilled driver (which is essential in Jaipur!) but also a guide who’s truly passionate about his work and his city. We learned so much while having an amazing time—each stop gave us insights into Jaipur’s culture, history, architecture, and people.
