Ending the day on the hill above the city.

This is a short tour arranged around one thing: being at Nahargarh Fort as the sun goes down. Nahargarh sits on the Aravalli ridge overlooking the whole of Jaipur, and from the ramparts the entire walled city lays out below you with the Amer hills behind. It is the best view in the city and it is best in the last hour of light, when the pink sandstone below turns properly pink.

Before that, two stops that fit the route up.

Amer Fort, the sixteenth-century palace-fortress above Maota Lake, with the Sheesh Mahal mirror chamber and the Ganesh Pol gateway.

Panna Meena ka Kund, five minutes from Amer and skipped by nearly every tour. It is an eight-storey stepwell from the sixteenth century, with criss-crossing symmetrical staircases descending to the water on all four sides. It photographs extraordinarily well and there is usually almost nobody there. You cannot walk down the steps any more, which is worth knowing before you arrive with that plan.

Foreign-national entry: Amer Fort ₹500, Nahargarh ₹200. Panna Meena is free.
Timing is the whole point. The tour is built backwards from sunset, so the departure time shifts through the year. We confirm it for your date.
Nahargarh has a café on the ramparts if you want to sit with the view rather than photograph it and leave.
The road up to Nahargarh is narrow and winding. It is fine in a car and slow in traffic; leaving with margin matters.
Two hours is tight for three stops. If you want real time at Amer, take the longer Jaipur day tours instead and treat this as the sunset add-on it is.
