A vintage car out, and a Rajasthani village evening at the other end.
Two things here, and the drive is genuinely half of it. Jaipur's royal families kept large fleets of pre-war cars, and a number survive in private hands. Riding through the city in one at dusk is a different experience from a taxi, and it is the reason this costs what it does.
Chokhi Dhani
A recreated Rajasthani village on the edge of Jaipur, running since 1990. It is touristy and entirely open about that, and it is also genuinely good fun. Folk dancers, kalbeliya snake-charmer dance, puppetry, acrobats, fire performers, camel and elephant rides, magicians, fortune tellers, and mehndi.
Dinner is a Rajasthani thali eaten sitting on the floor, served in steel bowls and refilled until you physically stop them. Dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, bajra roti with ghee, churma, and unlimited buttermilk. Genuinely good and genuinely endless.
