A full Jaipur day with somewhere decent to eat in the middle of it.
Eight hours covers the four main sites properly. Lunch is built in, which matters more than it sounds after three hours on Amer's stone in the sun.
What you see
Amer Fort, begun 1592, a fort outside and a palace within. The Sheesh Mahal mirror palace, the painted Ganesh Pol gateway, and the Sukh Niwas with water channels cut through the marble to cool it.
City Palace, partly still the royal residence. The Mubarak Mahal textile collection, the two enormous sterling silver urns, and the four painted seasonal doorways of Pritam Niwas Chowk — the peacock door being the one everyone photographs.
Jantar Mantar, the 1730s observatory whose instruments still work.
Hawa Mahal, the 953-window facade from 1799.
Plus Jal Mahal on Man Sagar Lake as a view stop, and Panna Meena ka Kund below Amer if the timing allows.
