This full day guided tour of Delhi was absolutley brilliant. Our guide took us through centuries of history, from the Mughal era monuments of Old Delhi to the British colonial grandeur of New Delhi. The Red Fort was massive and impressive, and the walk through Chandni Chowk was sensory overload in the best possible way. In New Delhi, Humayun's Tomb was a highlight with its beautiful Persian style gardens. The guide also took us to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and the Lotus Temple. A comprehensive and engaging day exploring India's capital.
The full day Delhi tour covered everything you could want to see. Started with the Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, then a rickshaw ride through the crowded lanes of Chandni Chowk. After lunch (the guide recommended an amazing kebab place in Old Delhi) we headed to New Delhi for India Gate, the Parliament area, Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb. The contrast between Mughal Old Delhi and the wide British colonial avenues of New Delhi is facinating. Our guide was deeply knowledgable and made every stop interesting.
Good full day tour of Delhi. The guide was professional and spoke clear English. We visited Red Fort, Jama Masjid, India Gate, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar among other sites. The guide explained the history of each period of Delhi's development from ancient times to the present. The car was comfortable and the driver navigated the traffic well. Only giving 4 stars because we spent a lot of time in traffic between sites which is unavoidable in Delhi but still frustrating. Would suggest starting as early as possible.
One of the best city tours I have done anywhere in the world. Delhi has so many layers of history and our guide peeled them back one by one throughout the day. In Old Delhi the Mughal heritage was everywhere, from the imposing Red Fort to the centuries old bazaar at Chandni Chowk. The spice market smelled incredible. In New Delhi the guide showed us the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate and the modernist Lotus Temple. Humayun's Tomb was perhaps my favourite single monument, so peaceful and beautiful. Definately worth a full day to explore Delhi properly.
Spent a full day exploring Delhi with our guide and it was incredible. He showed us how Delhi is really seven cities layered on top of each other. We started at the 12th century Qutub Minar, then visited the Mughal era Red Fort and Jama Masjid, then the British colonial architecture of Lutyens' Delhi, and finally modern landmarks like the Lotus Temple. The contrast between the narrow chaotic lanes of Old Delhi and the grand orderly avenues of New Delhi is striking. Street food stops along the way were a delicious bonus. Absolutley reccomend this tour.
