Detailed Itinerary

Early Morning Departure from Delhi/NCR

Your day begins bright and early at 6:00 AM, when your professional local guide will meet you at your hotel in Delhi or the National Capital Region. You’ll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned sedan, perfect for relaxing as you leave the bustling city behind. The drive to Jaipur takes approximately 3.5 hours via the Yamuna Expressway, offering scenic views of the countryside dotted with fields, villages, and roadside markets. This peaceful journey sets the tone for a day filled with culture, history, and vibrant Rajasthani charm.

Explore Jaipur’s Iconic Amber Fort

Your first major stop is Amber Fort, the crown jewel of Jaipur’s rich historical landscape. Perched atop a hill, this majestic fort is a splendid example of Rajput architecture, blending red sandstone and white marble with intricate mirror work and frescoes. As you walk through its grand gates, your guide will share stories about the fort’s origins in the 16th century and its role as a royal residence. You’ll explore key highlights such as the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), the Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), and the sprawling courtyards that overlook Maota Lake. Don’t forget to bring your camera here, as the panoramic views of the Aravalli hills are breathtaking.

Discover the Cultural Heritage at City Palace

Next, you’ll head to Jaipur’s City Palace, located in the heart of the Pink City. This sprawling complex is a living monument to Jaipur’s royal history, combining Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. Inside, you’ll wander through a labyrinth of courtyards, gardens, and museums that showcase royal costumes, weaponry, and exquisite artworks. Your guide will help you understand the cultural significance of each section and the palace’s role as the seat of the Jaipur Maharajas. Take your time to admire the ornate Peacock Gate and the beautiful Chandra Mahal, still home to the royal family.

Authentic Mughlai Lunch Experience

By midday, your appetite will be well earned. You’ll enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant specializing in authentic Mughlai cuisine. This rich and flavorful culinary tradition is known for its slow-cooked meats, fragrant spices, and buttery breads. Expect dishes such as tender kebabs, creamy kormas, aromatic biryanis, and freshly baked naan. The meal is not only a feast for your palate but also a window into the culinary heritage that blends Persian and Indian influences. Vegetarian options are available on request, ensuring a satisfying meal for everyone.

Optional Visits and Flexible Itinerary

If time permits or if you have specific interests, you can request optional visits to other Jaipur landmarks such as Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory, or Hawa Mahal, the famous Palace of Winds with its iconic honeycomb façade. Your guide will tailor the experience based on your preferences, ensuring you make the most of your time. This flexibility is one of the special features of the tour, allowing you to explore Jaipur at your own pace without waiting in long lines thanks to skip-the-line entry privileges.

Comfortable Return to Delhi

Around 5:00 PM, you’ll begin your journey back to Delhi in the same comfortable AC sedan. The return drive offers a chance to reflect on the day’s discoveries while watching the sun set over the rural landscape. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Delhi or NCR, tired but filled with memories of Jaipur’s royal splendor and cultural depth.

Ten hours flew by. Our guide met us right at the hotel and clearly knew every corner of Amber Fort, walking us through the mirror hall while pointing out details we'd never have spotted alone. The included lunch was excellent and the car stayed cool all day. Having entry tickets already sorted meant zero queuing. A genuinely relaxed way to see the Pink City.

Booked this for my parents and me and it suited all three of us. Dad struggled with the climb at Amber Fort but the guide arranged a jeep to the top, which saved the day. Loved the photo stop at Jal Mahal, the water palace looked unreal in the morning light. Private car, air con, water on tap. Worth every dollar.

A lovely day overall and our guide was warm and knowledgeable at the City Palace. My only honest note is Amber Fort was extremely crowded by late morning and a few galleries felt rushed because of it. Go early if you can. The lunch was tasty and they happily made mine vegetarian. Still a great introduction to Jaipur.

Exactly what we wanted from one day in Jaipur. The Hawa Mahal facade at the start was a stunning first photo, and the guide timed each stop so we never felt hurried. He also helped us bargain in the bazaar for a block-printed scarf without the usual pressure. Pickup was punctual and the whole thing felt effortless and private.

Very well organised private tour. Our driver was calm in Jaipur's traffic and the guide balanced history with free time nicely. The mirrored Sheesh Mahal inside Amber Fort was the highlight for me. Everything from entry fees to bottled water was covered, so there were no awkward extra payments. Highly recommend for a first visit to the city.

We had two energetic kids and the flexibility of a private car made this so much easier than a group tour. When the little one got tired we simply headed to lunch early, no fuss. The guide kept the children engaged with stories about the maharajas at City Palace. Jal Mahal was a lovely quick stop. Smooth, comfortable and great value.

Solid full-day experience with a friendly, professional guide. The forts and palaces were spectacular. My one gripe is the afternoon heat in March was intense and the market walk felt a bit long in the sun, plus a couple of shop touts were persistent. That said, the air-conditioned car was a welcome refuge between stops and lunch was very good.

An unforgettable day. Our guide's passion for Jaipur was infectious, especially explaining the astronomy links around the City Palace grounds. The private setup meant we lingered at Amber Fort for photos as long as we liked. Hotel pickup and drop-off were seamless and the vegetarian lunch was one of the best meals of our trip. Booking was quick and confirmation clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your 399 USD covers a private air-conditioned car with an experienced driver for the full 10 hours, a professional Govt.-approved tour guide, entry fees to all the monuments on the itinerary, lunch, and bottled water throughout the day. There are no hidden extras for the sightseeing itself, so the only things you'd pay out of pocket are personal shopping, tips, and any snacks or drinks beyond what's provided.
You'll visit the Amber Fort with its grand courtyards and mirror work, stop for photos at the Jal Mahal (the water palace on Man Sagar Lake), tour the City Palace with its museums and royal artifacts, and admire the honeycomb façade of the Hawa Mahal. There's also time to stroll Jaipur's colourful bazaars for handicrafts, textiles, and jewellery. If you'd like landmarks like Jantar Mantar added, our Iconic Landmarks Tour focuses on those observatory and palace highlights.
Yes. The tour includes private car pick-up and drop-off from your hotel or accommodation anywhere in Jaipur. Your driver arrives directly at your door, so there's no meeting point to find. When you book, just share your hotel name and preferred start time and we'll confirm the pickup with your guide the evening before.
This is a fully private tour — the car, driver, and guide are exclusively yours for the day. That means you set the pace, spend longer at the sites you love, and skip anything that doesn't interest you. It's ideal for couples, families, or small groups who want a flexible day rather than a fixed coach schedule.
Most of the day is comfortable, but the Amber Fort involves a steep uphill climb to the main entrance and plenty of stairs and ramps inside. The City Palace and the bazaars around Hawa Mahal also mean a fair amount of walking on uneven ground. Wear supportive shoes and take your time — your guide will pace things to suit you, and the private car means you can rest between stops.
Absolutely. Because it's private and travels by air-conditioned car, families with kids and older travellers can go at a relaxed pace with rest stops whenever needed. The only real consideration is the climb up to Amber Fort — older guests can hire a jeep to the top for a small extra fee, and your guide will happily arrange it on the day.
An early start (around 8–9 am) is best so you reach Amber Fort before the midday heat and the biggest tour crowds. The most comfortable months are October to March, when Jaipur's days are pleasantly warm. From April to June it can climb past 40°C, so we schedule the outdoor forts first and indoor palaces and shaded bazaars for the hotter afternoon.
Wear light, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes for the Amber Fort climb, and bring a hat and sunglasses. Sunscreen is essential in the Pink City sun. For the City Palace and other heritage sites, modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is respectful and comfortable. We provide bottled water all day, but staying hydrated is key from April through June.
Yes — entry fees to the monuments on the itinerary are included in the 399 USD price, so you won't be buying tickets at each gate. Your Govt.-approved guide handles entry so you spend your time exploring rather than queuing. If you'd prefer a guide-only arrangement where you pay entries separately, our official guide booking option is an alternative.
Photography is wonderful here — the Hawa Mahal façade at morning light and the mirrored halls of Amber Fort are highlights. Most sites allow photos, though a few interior museum galleries at the City Palace restrict cameras or charge a small camera fee, which your guide will point out. Your driver knows the best angle across the lake for that classic Jal Mahal shot too.
Yes, the itinerary includes a stroll through Jaipur's markets for handicrafts, textiles, and jewellery, and your guide can help you navigate prices and avoid overpaying. If shopping is your main interest, you might prefer our dedicated Craft & Shopping Experience with blue pottery and textile printing, which goes deeper into artisan workshops and hands-on demonstrations.
Lunch is included and served at a good local restaurant during the tour. India, and Rajasthan especially, is very vegetarian-friendly, so pure-veg, Jain, or vegan meals are no problem — just let us know your preference when booking. If you'd love to go further into Rajasthani food, consider adding the Same Day Jaipur Tour with a cooking class.
The tour runs about 10 hours, which comfortably covers Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and the markets at an unhurried pace. Because it's private, you can adjust the flow — spend longer at a favourite site or add a quick stop like Albert Hall or Nahargarh Fort. Just discuss it with your guide on the day and they'll do their best to fit it in.
This same-day tour is essentially a complete full-day experience covering Jaipur's headline monuments in one convenient package with car, guide, entries, and lunch. If you want a very similar itinerary framed differently, our Private Full Day Sightseeing Tour by car with guide is a close alternative. This tour is the best fit for travellers with a single day who want everything sorted end to end.
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled start time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable because the private car and guide are reserved exclusively for you. If your plans are uncertain, book anyway and adjust later — we'll always try to help with rescheduling where possible.
Simply select the Same Day Jaipur Sightseeing Tour option at 399 USD and complete your booking online. After that we confirm your hotel pickup time and location, note any dietary or accessibility needs, and share your guide's details before the tour. You'll receive a confirmation with everything you need, and our team is on hand for any questions right up to your travel day.
Amber Fort is located 11 km from Jaipur city center, about a 20-minute drive. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, round-trip transportation from your hotel is included. You can also take an elephant or jeep ride up to the fort entrance.
Modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is recommended for temple visits. Comfortable walking shoes are essential as forts like Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort involve significant walking on stone pathways. Carry sunscreen and water, especially during summer months.
Yes, all three can be covered in a full-day guided tour. Our Jaipur city tours are designed to cover these major attractions efficiently with an experienced local guide who knows the best routes and timing to avoid crowds.
