Traveler Reviews
Honestly the highlight of our whole Rajasthan trip. The family welcomed us like old friends and we rolled our own chapatis while their grandmother corrected our technique with a laugh. The dal we made was better than anything we ate in restaurants. Being picked up from our hotel and dropped back after dark made it completely stress-free. Worth every rupee.
We wanted something beyond forts and monuments and this delivered exactly that. Cooking in a real Jaipur kitchen, learning which spices go in at which moment, then sitting down to eat what we'd made together was unforgettable. Our host explained everything patiently. A wonderful window into everyday Rajasthani life that no restaurant could match.
A lovely, genuine evening with a very kind family and delicious vegetarian food we helped prepare. My only small note is that the drive from our hotel took longer than expected due to evening traffic, so we started a bit late. Once we arrived though, the warmth and the meal more than made up for it. Would recommend.
Four hours flew by. My wife is vegetarian and they built the whole menu around that without any fuss, and the spice levels were adjusted to what we could handle. We drank, we cooked, we laughed with the kids of the house. It felt like being invited to a friend's home rather than a paid tour. Easily our best night in Jaipur.
As someone of Indian heritage I was a little skeptical, but this was the real thing. The recipes were proper home-style Rajasthani cooking, not a watered-down tourist version. I finally learned to get the gatte right. The hosts shared family stories over dinner and sent us off with handwritten notes on the spices. Deeply personal and beautifully done.
We did a lot of sightseeing during the day and wanted a relaxed evening, and this was perfect. No climbing, no crowds, just a comfortable kitchen and generous people. The included drinks were a nice surprise. Learning to make fresh breads and a rich curry from scratch, then eating it all, was the most memorable meal of our India trip.
Truly warm hospitality and food that tasted like it was made with love. The cooking part was very hands-on which I loved. It was a fairly hot evening even after sunset and the home kitchen got quite warm while we cooked, so bring light clothing. Small thing though, the family and the meal were absolutely worth it and I'd happily go back.
Booking was simple and the hotel pickup arrived exactly on time. What stayed with me was how much the family shared, not just recipes but their daily routines, their traditions and plenty of jokes. We cooked several dishes and ate until we couldn't move. A far more meaningful way to spend an evening than another restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone curious about local life.
