Wildlife SOS betreibt das Elephant Conservation and Care Centre in Mathura, etwa eine Stunde von Agra. Die Elefanten dort wurden aus dem Geschäft mit Touristenritten, aus Zirkussen und aus dem Betteln auf der Straße geholt, und die meisten kamen mit beschädigten Füßen, Blindheit oder den Wirbelsäulenschäden an, die Jahrzehnte des Menschentragens hinterlassen.
