Der Tempel nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit, und die Show am Stufenbrunnen

Akshardham wurde 2005 vollendet, aus rosa Sandstein aus Rajasthan und italienischem Carrara-Marmor, 234 geschnitzte Säulen, 148 Steinelefanten, alle unterschiedlich, neun Kuppeln, und kein Baustahl und kein Beton im Hauptbauwerk. Errichtet nach den traditionellen Methoden der Shilpa Shastra, Stein behauen und gefügt, wie Tempel es vor tausend Jahren wurden.

Ob moderne Tempel einen interessieren oder nicht, dass dies im 21. Jahrhundert überhaupt versucht wurde, ist für sich bemerkenswert.

Die Abendführung

Ihr Führer führt Sie vor der Show durch den Komplex: den Mandir mit seiner geschnitzten Galerie, den Gajendra Pith-Sockel, dreitausend Tonnen Stein, die Elefantengeschichten aus der indischen Mythologie erzählen, und den Narayan Sarovar, das Becken, umringt von 108 Messing-Kuhköpfen und gefüllt mit Wasser aus 151 heiligen Flüssen und Seen.

Die Wasser- und Lichtshow

Am Yagnapurush Kund, dem größten Stufenbrunnen seiner Art, gebaut mit 2.870 Stufen um einen zentralen Lotus. Wasserfontänen, projiziertes Licht, Feuer und Tonspur erzählen eine Geschichte aus der Kena Upanishad, ein Junge, der sich dem Feuer opfert, um die Quelle des Lebens zu erfahren.

Sie dauert nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit etwa fünfzehn Minuten, und das ist der Grund, abends statt nachmittags zu kommen.

Vor der Abreise lesen

Die Sicherheitskontrolle hat Flughafenniveau, und die Verbotsliste ist strikt: keine Telefone, keine Kameras, keine Taschen, keine Elektronik, kein Essen. Am Eingang gibt es kostenlose Schließfächer, und die Warteschlange dafür ist der längste Teil des Abends, lassen Sie alles im Auto, wenn möglich.

Bescheidene Kleidung ist Pflicht, Schultern und Knie bedeckt für alle. Am Eingang werden Schals ausgeliehen.
