Tag 1

6:00 Uhr: Abfahrt von Delhi, Fahrt nach Amritsar, Ankunft um 14:00 Uhr.

15:00 Uhr: Schauspiel an der Grenze zwischen Indien und Pakistan.

Wir fahren zur Wagah-Grenze, der Grenze zwischen Indien und Pakistan. Wir werden am Abend die Schließung des indisch-pakistanischen Grenztors sehen. Die Beating-Retreat-Zeremonie besteht aus dem Schließen der Tore und dem Senken der Flaggen beider Länder. Wir sehen Soldaten aus Indien und Pakistan zu den Toren marschieren, und nachdem die Tore geöffnet sind, grüßen sie sich gegenseitig. Die Zeremonie endet mit der Rückkehr der Soldaten zur Grenzlinie für einen Handschlag. Der Trompetenstoß beendet dieses spektakuläre Grenzschauspiel.

Tag 2

8:00 Uhr: Besuch des Goldenen Tempels.

Die Tour zum Goldenen Tempel bringt uns zum Sri Harimandir Sahib, der nicht nur ein zentraler religiöser Ort der Sikhs ist, sondern auch ein Symbol menschlicher Brüderlichkeit und Gleichheit. Der Tempel folgt einer einzigartigen Sikh-Architektur. Die Tatsache, dass er auf einem niedrigeren Niveau als die umgebenden Ländereien erbaut wurde, lehrt die Lektion des Egalitarismus und der Demut. Die vier Eingänge dieses heiligen Schreins aus allen vier Richtungen bedeuten, dass Menschen aus allen Lebensbereichen gleichermaßen willkommen sind.

Nach der Tour zum Goldenen Tempel besuchen wir auch einen Langar, oder öffentliche Küche, des Gurudwara. Der Langar hier serviert täglich kostenloses warmes Essen an 50.000 bis 100.000 Menschen.

12:00 Uhr: Jallianwala Bagh.

Wir besuchen den Ort der barbarischsten Tat der Briten während der Kolonialzeit. Am 13. April 1919 hatten sich 20.000 Menschen, bestehend aus Hindus, Muslimen, und Sikhs, im Jallianwala Bagh versammelt, als Antwort auf Mahatma Gandhis Aufruf zu einem öffentlichen, gewaltfreien Protest gegen das Rowlatt-Gesetz. General Dyer marschierte mit 50 Soldaten zum Veranstaltungsort und feuerte 1.600 Schüsse ab, wobei Tausende friedlicher Demonstranten getötet wurden.

13:00 Uhr: Wir beginnen die Rückfahrt nach Delhi.

21:00 Uhr: Absetzung am Hotel in Delhi.

Balwinder was very knowledgeable about the places I visited on tour and very helpful on my tour. Any problems or concerns I had was quickly resolved. The tour covered all the sites mentioned on the itinerary and tour can be tailored to your specific requirements. Hotel stay was included and was of an excellent standard.
