Der größte hinduistische Tempelkomplex seiner Art, 2005 vollendet.
Akshardham ist nicht alt und gibt sich auch nicht so. Er wurde 2005 mit traditionellen Methoden vollendet, aus rosa Sandstein und weißem Marmor gearbeitet, ohne tragenden Stahl irgendwo im Bauwerk. Etwa 20.000 Figuren sind in den Stein gearbeitet: Gottheiten, Tänzer, Musiker, Elefanten. Was Sie vom Maßstab halten, sei Ihnen überlassen, das Handwerk ist echt und die Arbeit wurde von Hand gemacht.
Die Wasser- und Lichtshow
Die Abendshow Sahaj Anand läuft in einem Hof in Form eines Stufenbrunnens und erzählt eine Geschichte aus den Upanishaden mit Wasserstrahlen, Projektion, Feuer und live gespielter Musik. Sie dauert etwa 25 Minuten und ist der Grund, warum die meisten in der Dämmerung kommen und nicht mittags.
