Treffen Sie den Spaziergangsleiter vor dem Ausgangstor der Metrostation Qutub Minar. Unser kenntnisreicher Guide, bewandert in der Geschichte und dem Erbe des Ortes, beginnt mit einer kurzen Geschichte über den Ort und seine Relikte. Zeit, die Ruinen des berühmten „Mehrauli-Archäologieparks" zu entdecken. Delhis faszinierende Geschichtsschichten liegen offen vor Ihnen. Reisen Sie durch Jahrhunderte der Vergangenheit Delhis, während unser Spaziergangsleiter die Geschichten über die alten Denkmäler erzählt.

Der Metcalfe-Baldachin: ein einzigartiger Baldachin auf der Spitze eines hügeligen Hügels, erbaut in den 1850er-Jahren vom britischen Gelehrten „Charles Metcalfe" als „Folly". Man nennt es eine Folly, weil eine Folly ein relativ neues Gebäude ist, das eigentlich alt aussehen soll. Mit einer malerischen Landschaft im Hintergrund wirkt die Folly sehr charmant. Strukturell wie ein Sechseck gebaut.

Rajon Kee Baoli: ein atemberaubender Stufenbrunnen (örtlich „Baoli" genannt). Dieser Baoli ist nach gespenstischen Steinmetzen benannt, die in seinen unterirdischen Kammern wohnten, „Rajon ki Baoli". Der Baoli hat einen vertikalen Schacht zum Wasserschöpfen, und verfügt beiderseits über hohle Gänge mit kleinen Kammern, um der Hitze während der indischen Sommer zu entgehen. Dieser Ort gilt während der späten Nachtstunden als der am meisten verfolgte Ort Delhis.

Jamali-Kamali-Moschee: diese alte Moschee und Grabstätte aus rotem Sandstein gehörte einem Heiligen mit großer örtlicher Anhängerschaft. Auch hier meiden Menschen diesen Ort in den späten Abendstunden, und er gilt als verfolgt, mit zahlreichen Geschichten über geisterhafte Begegnungen und Missgeschicke.

ENDE: Die Gruppe geht zusammen mit dem Spaziergangsleiter zurück zur Metrostation Qutub Minar, und die Tour endet.

This is a must-do tour if you enjoy history and seeing ruins! Jai is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer many questions. We were given access to some "off-limit" areas to help understand the stories Jai was telling. Where comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk. It was definitely a nice respite from the chaos of the city. Thank you Jai!
