Fatehpur Sikri, a 40 km al oeste. Akbar construyó esta capital en arenisca roja a partir de 1571 y la abandonó en unos quince años, muy probablemente porque faltó el agua. Como nada se edificó encima, lo que queda en pie es una ciudad imperial completa: el Buland Darwaza de 54 metros, las cinco plantas abiertas del Panch Mahal, y el dargah de mármol de Salim Chishti, donde las mujeres siguen atando hilos a las celosías.
