El argumento a favor del Taj al amanecer es sencillo. El primer grupo de visitantes se encuentra un monumento casi vacío, un aire que todavía no ha llegado a los cuarenta grados, y la única hora del día en que el mármol cambia de color de verdad, del gris al rosa y después al blanco a medida que el sol pasa el horizonte por detrás.
El precio es el despertador. Sales de Delhi de madrugada para hacer las tres horas de la Yamuna Expressway y llegar a la puerta antes de que abra. Merece la pena, y el coche es un buen sitio para dormir a la vuelta.
Cómo funciona el día
Recogida en tu hotel, el aeropuerto o la estación de tren de Delhi. Vehículo privado climatizado durante todo el viaje. Llegas a Agra antes del alba y entras con el primer grupo. Unas dos horas dentro con tu guía autorizado y después el desayuno. Según la opción que elijas queda tiempo para el fuerte de Agra, y luego la vuelta. Unas ocho horas en total.

El Taj cierra los viernes.
El amanecer cambia a lo largo del año. A finales de diciembre la puerta abre hacia las 6:45 y en junio más bien hacia las 5:15, así que tu hora de recogida se mueve con la estación. La confirmamos al reservar.
La entrada para extranjeros cuesta 1100 ₹ más 200 ₹ por el mausoleo.
Las mañanas de invierno en Agra traen niebla del río. Suele levantar hacia las nueve y hasta entonces puede dar fotografías notables, pero en una mañana densa de diciembre la cúpula puede quedar oculta la primera hora.
Lleva una capa más. A las 5 de la mañana, de noviembre a febrero, hace frío de verdad.
