Dos monumentos y una razón de verdad para la segunda mitad del día.
La excursión habitual desde Delhi llena su tarde con una tienda de mármol. Esta va en cambio a un centro de conservación de elefantes, donde se rehabilita a animales rescatados del negocio de los paseos, de circos y de la mendicidad callejera. Muchos llegaron con las patas dañadas o lesiones de columna tras décadas cargando personas.
Nadie los monta. Los ves caminar, comer y bañarse, y los cuidadores explican de dónde viene cada uno y cómo ha sido su recuperación.
Cómo transcurre el día
Recogida en tu hotel o en el aeropuerto de Delhi en coche privado climatizado y después la Yamuna Expressway hasta Agra. Por la mañana el Taj Mahal con un guía profesional, y luego el fuerte de Agra. Por la tarde, el trayecto hasta el centro de conservación y tiempo con los animales y sus cuidadores. Después, vuelta a Delhi. Unas doce horas en total.

Conviene saber
El Taj cierra los viernes. El centro de conservación y el fuerte de Agra abren, así que reservar un viernes te deja igualmente casi todo el día.
Se pide a los visitantes que no toquen ni den de comer a los elefantes fuera de las sesiones supervisadas. Es un centro de rescate con protocolos veterinarios, no una atracción montada en torno al contacto.

Lleva calzado cerrado. El suelo del centro es polvo y grava.
Doce horas, seis de ellas en carretera. Salir temprano es necesario para encajar los tres como es debido.
