Delhi es otra ciudad después del anochecer.

El tráfico se aligera, la temperatura baja diez grados, y los monumentos están iluminados. Para quien ha pasado un día con el calor de Delhi, la visita de noche es la versión más agradable de la misma ciudad.

El templo Akshardham se terminó en 2005 y es uno de los mayores complejos de templo hindú del mundo, tallado en arenisca rosa y mármol blanco sin acero estructural en ninguna parte. Más de 20.000 figuras están trabajadas en la piedra. De noche todo el complejo está iluminado y hay una fuente musical.

La India Gate de noche es la razón para venir: el arco de 42 metros iluminado al final de Rajpath, con el césped lleno de familias de Delhi que han salido a pasar la tarde. Es gratis, está abierto a cualquier hora, y es donde la ciudad se relaja.

La tumba de Safdarjung, construida en 1754 para un primer ministro mogol, es la última de las grandes tumbas-jardín de Delhi y con mucho la más tranquila. Venir aquí después de la escala de Akshardham es un contraste buscado.
