El fuerte en sí

Shah Jahan lo empezó en 1639 como fortaleza-palacio de su nueva capital, Shahjahanabad. Dos kilómetros de muralla de arenisca roja, y sede del poder mogol hasta 1857. Dentro: la puerta de Lahore y el bazar cubierto del Chatta Chowk, el Diwan-i-Am donde el emperador escuchaba las peticiones públicas, el Diwan-i-Khas que albergó el Trono del Pavo Real, y los pabellones de mármol junto al río.
