Cuatro días es donde el Triángulo de Oro deja de ser una carrera.

Tres días cubren el circuito. El cuarto te compra dos cosas que nunca caben: amanecer en el Taj sin recortar otra cosa, y una reserva de tigres.

La ruta

Delhi para el Qutub Minar, la tumba de Humayun, el Fuerte Rojo, la Jama Masjid y la India Gate.

Agra para el Taj Mahal (coge la franja del amanecer, es la razón del día extra) y el Fuerte de Agra, con Fatehpur Sikri en la carretera hacia el oeste.

Ranthambore para el safari. El parque está organizado alrededor de una fortaleza del siglo X con bosque seco crecido a su alrededor, y las ruinas repartidas por la reserva le dan un aspecto que no tiene nada más en India. Población real de tigres, además de leopardos, osos perezosos, sambares y cocodrilos de pantano.

Jaipur para el Fuerte Amber y el Sheesh Mahal, el City Palace, el Jantar Mantar y el Hawa Mahal. Y vuelta a Delhi.

Lo que conviene saber

Ranthambore cierra del 1 de julio al 30 de septiembre por el monzón. Las zonas 6 a 10 a veces siguen abiertas; las zonas centrales no.
Las plazas de safari las asigna la administración, son limitadas y se agotan en temporada. Reserva cuanto antes: esa es la verdadera limitación del viaje.
La zona la asigna el departamento forestal. Nadie puede pedir una concreta con honestidad, y no se garantiza ningún tigre.
El Taj cierra los viernes, el Fuerte Rojo los lunes. Cuatro días absorben las dos cosas.
Los safaris de la mañana son mejores para los avistamientos y hace verdadero frío en un canter abierto de diciembre a febrero.

Para viajeros con cuatro días en vez de tres, para quien le interesa la fauna, y para quien quiere el Taj al amanecer sin renunciar a otra cosa.
