Conozca a nuestro representante en su hotel. Como debemos ir a la zona de la ciudad vieja, usamos una combinación de "tuk-tuk" y metro para llegar al lugar. Pronto comenzamos a caminar por los callejones, y llegamos a las escaleras de nuestra magnífica casa antigua conocida como "haveli", trasladándonos a la era pasada de los tiempos imperiales "mogoles". Quédese asombrado al ver los artefactos antiguos perfectamente conservados, y sienta un poco de ambiente de museo en su interior. Tome asiento, y prepárese para experimentar una fascinante música clásica india, interpretada en vivo frente a sus ojos. Verá el dueto entre 2 músicos: uno toca la "tabla", un par de tambores de mano que ha sido el principal instrumento de percusión en la música clásica. El otro músico toca el "sitar", un instrumento de cuerda pulsada inventado en el siglo XVIII.
Es hora de ver una impresionante actuación de danza "kathak": la bailarina cuenta muchas historias populares mientras muestra movimientos de manos y un elaborado trabajo de pies; sus movimientos corporales llenos de gracia, su agilidad, y sus cautivadoras expresiones faciales pueden hipnotizar al público.

This is an under the radar tour that was the highlight of our time in Delhi. Jai is very knowledgeable and friendly. This is NOT a shopping tour. We visited the Kartika Cultural Center, which is a lovingly restored Haveli (home of the wealthy), where we watched a performance by classical Indian musicians and a dance performance in the Kartika style. The haveli is a museum of Indian art, architecture and literature. They offer drinks and lunch at no additional cost and have clean bathrooms. The staff was warm and genuinely happy to spend time with us. Each of them went out of their way to speak with us. The owner, who committed personally to this philanthropic endeavour, happened to be there, and is genuinely committed to the restoration of these abandoned havelis in the heart of Old Delhi, despite many barriers. He also bought another haveli across the street, and has beautifully restored it into a beautiful BNB

I didn't know what to expect from this activity. But wow! I was blown away. This was possibly the highlight of my time in India. Visiting the two beautifully-restored havelis was so inspiring, and the perfect venue to see amazing Kathak dance and beautifully-performed music on sitar and tabla. The lunch was great, the museum was filled with fascinating objects. It was a fabulous experience. Jai was great at communicating in the days leading up to the event. It turned out I was the sole participant, so I got a lot of personalized information. I loved everything about this, and I hope both Jai's tour and the Kathika Cultural Centre & Museum have much success. I hope Jai will update the title and description of this activity to better reflect what it's like. Also, it would be good if he makes it easier to arrange hotel pickup, maybe even increase the price to include hotel pickup instead of a meeting point. I would happily have paid more for this tour.
