Pourquoi le Taj ferme le vendredi

Parce que c'est un complexe de mosquée en activité, pas seulement un tombeau. La mosquée de grès rouge sur le côté ouest de la plateforme accueille la prière du vendredi, et tout le complexe se ferme ce jour-là aux visiteurs munis d'un billet.

Cela vaut la peine d'être su à la réservation, et c'est aussi un rappel utile de ce qu'est l'édifice : Shah Jahan a commandé un rauza, un jardin-tombeau, avec une mosquée, une maison d'hôtes, une porte, un bazar et un caravansérail autour.
