Deux monuments, et une vraie raison d'occuper la seconde moitié de la journée.
L'excursion habituelle depuis Delhi remplit son après-midi avec une boutique de marbre. Celle-ci va plutôt dans un centre de protection des éléphants, où des animaux sauvés du commerce des promenades à dos d'éléphant, des cirques et de la mendicité de rue sont réhabilités. Beaucoup sont arrivés avec des pieds abîmés ou des lésions de la colonne après des décennies passées à porter des gens.
Personne ne les monte. Vous les regardez marcher, manger et se baigner, et les soigneurs expliquent d'où vient chacun et à quoi a ressemblé sa convalescence.
Comment se déroule la journée
Prise en charge à votre hôtel ou à l'aéroport de Delhi en voiture climatisée privée, puis la Yamuna Expressway jusqu'à Agra. Matinée au Taj Mahal avec un guide professionnel, puis le fort d'Agra. L'après-midi, la route jusqu'au centre de protection et du temps auprès des animaux et de leurs soigneurs. Puis le retour à Delhi. Environ douze heures en tout.

Le Taj est fermé le vendredi. Le centre de protection et le fort d'Agra sont ouverts : une réservation un vendredi vous laisse donc l'essentiel de la journée.
Il est demandé aux visiteurs de ne pas toucher ni nourrir les éléphants en dehors des séances encadrées. C'est un centre de sauvetage avec des protocoles vétérinaires, pas une attraction construite autour du contact.
