La route

La Yamuna Expressway est une autoroute à péage à six voies ouverte en 2012, et c'est la raison pour laquelle ce trajet est seulement possible en une journée, avant elle, Delhi-Agra c'était cinq heures de route nationale traversant des villes.

Taj Mahal

Shah Jahan l'a commencé en 1632, l'année suivant la mort de Mumtaz Mahal en donnant naissance à leur quatorzième enfant. Vingt mille ouvriers, vingt-deux ans, et du marbre blanc charrié sur 400 km depuis Makrana, au Rajasthan, par charrette à bœufs et éléphants le long d'une rampe construite à cet effet.

Et la seule rupture volontaire de la symétrie : le cénotaphe de Shah Jahan lui-même, placé hors de l'axe central à côté de celui de sa femme par Aurangzeb.

Le fort d'Agra

La ville de grès rouge d'Akbar, 1565, avec les palais de marbre de Shah Jahan à l'intérieur, et le Musamman Burj, la tour octogonale où Aurangzeb l'a enfermé les huit dernières années de sa vie, le Taj visible le long de l'eau.

Danish was an amazing tour guide explaining the history behind the Taj amazingly and also allowing me to feel safe as a female solo traveller during the tour I felt 100% comfortable and it was overall a 10/10 experience
