Le temple Akshardham a été achevé en 2005 et c'est l'un des plus grands complexes de temple hindou au monde, taillé dans le grès rose et le marbre blanc sans aucun acier de structure. Plus de 20 000 figures sont travaillées dans la pierre. La nuit, tout le complexe est illuminé et il y a une fontaine musicale.

L'India Gate de nuit est la raison de venir : l'arc de 42 mètres illuminé au bout de Rajpath, avec les pelouses remplies de familles de Delhi sorties pour la soirée. C'est gratuit, ouvert à toute heure, et c'est là que la ville se détend.

Le tombeau de Safdarjung, bâti en 1754 pour un premier ministre moghol, est le dernier des grands tombeaux-jardins de Delhi et de loin le plus calme. Venir ici après l'échelle d'Akshardham est un contraste voulu.
