Les trois grandes villes du Rajasthan en quatre jours

Ceci évite entièrement Agra et file directement vers le Rajasthan, Jaipur, Jodhpur et Udaipur, les trois villes les plus différentes les unes des autres. Quatre jours sont serrés pour cela ; les distances en sont la raison.

Jaipur

Le fort d'Amber sur sa crête au-dessus du lac Maota, commencé en 1592, avec la porte Ganesh Pol et le Sheesh Mahal où des fragments de miroir au plafond transformaient une seule bougie en un ciel d'étoiles.

Puis le City Palace, encore en partie résidence de la famille royale ; le Jantar Mantar, dix-neuf instruments astronomiques en maçonnerie avec un cadran solaire toujours précis à environ deux secondes ; et le Hawa Mahal, l'écran aux 953 fenêtres de 1799.

Soirées dans les bazars, Johari pour les pierres précieuses, Tripolia pour les bracelets en laque fabriqués à la flamme sous vos yeux.

Jodhpur

Environ 330 km à l'ouest. Mehrangarh s'élève de 120 mètres directement depuis la roche, n'a jamais été pris, et abrite le musée le mieux géré du Rajasthan. Les impacts de boulets de canon sur la deuxième porte proviennent d'un siège de Jaipur.

En dessous, Jaswant Thada en marbre assez fin pour laisser passer la lumière du soleil, et les ruelles bleues autour de la tour de l'horloge, la couleur était un lavage à la chaux et au cuivre qui repoussait les termites.

Udaipur

250 km de plus au sud, et le paysage s'élève vers les Aravalli au fil de la route.

Le City Palace s'étend sur presque un kilomètre le long du lac Pichola, bâti par fragments par vingt-deux souverains sur quatre siècles. Le temple de Jagdish de 1651, en haut de trente-deux marches passant devant des éléphants de pierre. Saheliyon ki Bari, le jardin de fontaines construit pour les quarante-huit suivantes d'une reine.

Et un bateau au coucher du soleil, ce que les gens racontent en rentrant chez eux.
