Sunrise at the Taj, with someone who knows where to stand.
The Taj at first light is the version people remember. The marble reads grey before the sun clears the horizon, shifts through pink, then settles into white. The crowd at 6am is a fraction of what it will be by ten, and the temperature is survivable even in May.
What makes this one different is the photographer. Not a guide with a phone, but someone who works the site daily and knows which spots give you the framed-dome shot from the Great Gate, the reflection in the long pool, the bench, and the angles round the side that most visitors walk straight past. You get five finished photographs, hard and soft copies, of your group rather than five each.
The timing
Pickup from your Delhi hotel in the small hours for the drive down the Yamuna Expressway. You arrive at the gate before it opens, which is the whole point, and go in with the first batch. Roughly two hours inside with the photographer and guide, then the drive back to Delhi. About five and a half hours in total.

Sunrise moves through the year. In December the gate opens around 6:45; in June it is closer to 5:15. Your pickup time shifts with it.
