Whichever city you are in, there is an option for it.
Five configurations covering departures from Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, which is useful midway through the Golden Triangle when you want Agra from wherever you happen to be.
From Delhi it is about 230 km on the Yamuna Expressway, roughly three hours. From Jaipur it is about 240 km, four to five hours with Fatehpur Sikri on the road. From Agra there is no drive at all and the day is half the length.
What you see
The Taj Mahal, with your guide covering the Great Gate approach, the charbagh gardens, the marble platform and the mausoleum interior. The pietra dura inlay gets explained properly, along with the calligraphy scaled to read evenly from the ground and the minarets leaning fractionally outward.
Agra Fort, where the Diwan-i-Am, the Jahangir Palace and the Musamman Burj sit on one circuit, and where the view across the Yamuna gives the Taj its ending.
