Most Delhi day trips do the Taj, do the Fort, and drive home. Eleven hours gives room for Agra itself: the workshops, the older quarters, and the sites that sit outside the two famous ones.
How the day runs
Pickup from your hotel or the airport in Delhi in a private air-conditioned car, then the Yamuna Expressway down, roughly three hours.
The Taj Mahal first with your professional guide, at a pace that allows for the gardens and the riverside terrace rather than a straight walk to the platform and back. Agra Fort after, with the Diwan-i-Am, the Jahangir Palace and the Musamman Burj where Shah Jahan was confined within sight of the Taj.
Then the city: a marble inlay workshop where pietra dura is still cut and set by hand, which is more interesting than it sounds once you have seen the technique on the Taj itself, and whatever else your guide judges worth the remaining time.
