Full description
Amanat Khan signed the building
On the great gateway and around the arches, the Quranic inscriptions are the work of one man: Amanat Khan, a Persian calligrapher from Shiraz. He is the only craftsman permitted to sign his work anywhere on the Taj, and his signature is there — at the end of the inscription on the south gateway, with a date.
His real achievement is the trick: the letters grow larger as they rise, so that from the ground every line appears exactly the same height. It only works from the intended viewing position, which means the lettering was designed for a standing human rather than for a drawing.
Once a guide points that out you cannot unsee it.
The day
Optional private pickup from your hotel in Delhi, then the expressway to Agra — or a start in Agra if you are already there.
Taj Mahal. Commissioned 1631, begun 1632, and twenty-two years in the building. Twenty thousand workers; marble hauled 400 km from Makrana in Rajasthan.
Beyond the calligraphy: the pietra dura inlay, with as many as sixty pieces of cornelian, jasper, lapis and jade in a single flower; the four minarets, tilted fractionally outward so an earthquake would drop them clear of the tomb; and the one deliberate asymmetry — Shah Jahan's own cenotaph, placed off the central axis by Aurangzeb after his death.
Agra Fort. A walled city rather than a fort: two and a half kilometres of red sandstone begun by Akbar in 1565, with Shah Jahan's marble palaces inside — and the Musamman Burj, the octagonal tower where Aurangzeb held his father prisoner for the last eight years of his life, the Taj visible along the water.

I really enjoyed this trip. The Taj Mahal is magical and the Agra Fort really interesting. The guide Amit was very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot about the history of both sites. Amit really brought the stories of the past to life for me. Having an experienced guide like Amit ensured I had a wonderful experience. Amit also takes excellent photos! The driver Hari was on time and very friendly. He explained the outline of the day well. Highly recommend.
The tour was amazing. Our driver Vijay was right on time and the pick up and the drive to Agra was smooth where our guide Saif joined us. He took us around Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, explained the historical significance and patiently answered our questions and didn’t rush us at all when we were taking pictures. Highly recommended tour and a shoutout to Vijay and Saif for making it a memorable one !

Wonderful visit to Taj Mahal. Thank you to our guide Raghu for showing us and giving us your insights on the story of Taj Mahal and directing us to a nice lunch place. Rohid drove us back and forth from Delhi safely and securely. Thank you both for a great day.
I recently had the privilege of embarking on the Taj Mahal Sunrise Private Tour from Delhi, organized by Travel Creators of India, and I must say that this experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, it was a seamless and magical journey that left an indelible mark on my heart. Our driver arrived at my hotel right on time, and from the moment we set off, their professionalism was evident. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the history and significance of the Taj Mahal.
I had an incredible experience on the Taj Mahal day tour from Delhi! The tour was well-organized and informative. The guide provided fascinating historical insights, and the drive was comfortable. The Taj Mahal's beauty was beyond words, and I appreciated the opportunity to explore its intricate details. The entire day was seamless, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Delhi and want to experience the Taj Mahal.
The taj mahal is breathtaking and the sunrise tour is worth it even if it’s just to avoid the crowds. My driver Abhishek was prompt and I had a comfortable transport. My tour guide Ragu was great and he pointed out a lot of cool optical and visual components of the taj mahal in addition to stories and history. There did seem to be some lack of communication from the tour company though because he didn’t seem clear on if Fort Agra was part of my itinerary. I had just been to Jaipur where there are many forts so decided to skip Fort Agra anyways. At the marble store (which does pressure you to buy, but has beautiful work and gives a short demo of the artisan craft) I did end up purchasing something and they forgot to include a portion when packing. Ragu went out of his way to pick it up from the store and coordinated with a driver to have it delivered to me back in Delhi. I really appreciate it!
Very nice tour with great tour guide Nick definitely recommend
