From Delhi: Taj Mahal & Agra Private Day Tour by Fast Train. Ride the Gatimaan Express, India's fastest train, from Delhi to Agra.
Experience one of the most iconic day trips in India the right way, with everything handled from the moment we pick you up in Delhi to the moment your driver drops you back at your hotel that evening.
Your morning starts between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM when your private driver arrives at your Delhi hotel. The pickup time depends on how far your hotel sits from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Your driver does not just drop you outside. He walks you in, finds your coach on the Gatimaan Express, and makes sure you are comfortably seated before heading off. First time at an Indian railway station or tenth time, it makes no difference. You will not feel lost.
The Gatimaan Express departs at 8:10 AM and reaches Agra at 9:50 AM. It is India's fastest train and the journey itself is smooth and enjoyable. Step off the train and your Agra guide and driver are standing right in front of your coach waiting for you. No calls, no hunting around, no wasted time.
Your first stop is the Taj Mahal. Your guide walks you through one of the Seven Wonders of the World and goes well beyond the basics. The love story, the construction secrets, the symbolism carved into every surface, the marble inlay techniques that still cannot be fully replicated today. You get the full picture. After your Taj Mahal visit you sit down for a proper lunch break before the afternoon continues.
Agra Fort comes next. This towering red sandstone fortress ruled over the entire Mughal empire for generations and there is far more to explore inside than most visitors expect. Your guide brings the history alive and takes you to the spot where Shah Jahan spent his final years looking out at the Taj Mahal he could no longer visit.
If your day has room for one more stop, add the Baby Taj. Known properly as Itimad-Ud-Daulah, this riverside mausoleum is quieter, less crowded, and filled with some of the finest marble inlay work you will see anywhere in Agra. Many travelers say it was the surprise highlight of their day.
At 5:30 PM your guide brings you to Agra Cantt Railway Station, helps you find your coach and settle into your seat on the return Gatimaan Express. The train leaves at 5:50 PM and arrives in Delhi at 7:30 PM. Your Delhi driver is already on the platform waiting in front of your coach and takes you directly to whatever location in Delhi you choose.
Explore two of India's greatest cities in a single day and come back with memories that last far longer than the journey.
