Two monuments and a genuine reason to be in the second half of the day.
The usual Delhi day trip fills its afternoon with a marble showroom. This one goes to an elephant conservation centre instead, where animals rescued from the riding trade, from circuses and from street begging are rehabilitated. Many arrived with foot damage or spinal injuries from decades of carrying people.
Nobody rides them. You watch them walk, feed and bathe, and the keepers explain where each one came from and what recovery has looked like.
How the day runs
Pickup from your hotel or the airport in Delhi in a private air-conditioned car, then the Yamuna Expressway to Agra. Morning at the Taj Mahal with a professional guide, then Agra Fort. In the afternoon, the drive to the conservation centre and time with the animals and their keepers. Then back to Delhi. About twelve hours in total.

The Taj is closed on Fridays. The conservation centre and Agra Fort are open, so a Friday booking still gives you most of the day.
