It is a group tour rather than a private one, which means fixed timings and other travellers — and for a lot of people, particularly those travelling alone, that is a feature.

Day 1: arrival

Met at Delhi airport or picked up from your hotel, transfer to a five-star property, and a welcome briefing and dinner in the evening where you meet the escort and the rest of the group.

Day 2: Old and New Delhi

Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, and a cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, laid out in the 1650s by Shah Jahan's daughter with a canal down its centre.

Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Then India Gate, Humayun's Tomb — the 1560s Mughal garden tomb the Taj descends from — and Qutub Minar with its rustless iron pillar.

Days 3–4: Agra

The Taj Mahal, ideally at sunrise, and Agra Fort, with the Musamman Burj where Shah Jahan spent his last eight years imprisoned by his son, looking at his wife's tomb along the river.

Fatehpur Sikri on the road west: Akbar's capital of 1571, abandoned after fourteen years when the water failed and preserved because of it.

Days 5–6: Jaipur

Amber Fort on its ridge above Maota Lake, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar's stone instruments, and the Hawa Mahal. An evening in the bazaars, and the return to Delhi.
