The three-day Golden Triangle is a sprint and most people say so afterwards. Five days covers the same route with genuine slack in it: sunrise at the Taj without cutting anything, a full day for Delhi, and an afternoon in Jaipur's bazaars rather than a dash between forts.
Delhi
Qutub Minar and the unrusting iron pillar. Humayun's Tomb, the Taj's direct prototype. Old Delhi for the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. India Gate and Lutyens' avenues.
Agra
The Taj Mahal at sunrise — with five days there is no reason to take any other slot. Agra Fort, and Itimad-ud-Daulah, the Baby Taj, which short itineraries always drop. Fatehpur Sikri on the road west.
Jaipur
Amer Fort and the Sheesh Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, plus Nahargarh at sunset and time in Johari and Bapu bazaars.
