The standard circuit, run comfortably.
Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and back. It is the standard first trip to north India because the three cities tell one continuous story: a Mughal capital, the tomb that nearly emptied its treasury, and the Rajput city that negotiated with both.
Day one — Delhi
Qutub Minar and the unrusting iron pillar. Humayun's Tomb, the garden tomb the Taj was modelled on. Old Delhi for the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. India Gate and Lutyens' avenues. Then the drive to Agra.
Day two — Agra
The Taj Mahal at sunrise if you take the advice. Agra Fort, and the Musamman Burj where Shah Jahan spent his last eight years looking at his wife's tomb across the river. Fatehpur Sikri on the road west to Rajasthan.
Day three — Jaipur
Amer Fort and the Sheesh Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, and the bazaars if there is appetite left. Back to Delhi.
