Three days covers Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. The fourth buys you the thing every three-day traveller says they wanted: time. Sunrise at the Taj without cutting something else, a full day for Delhi, and an afternoon in Jaipur's bazaars rather than a dash between forts.
Delhi
Qutub Minar, begun 1192, with the unrusting iron pillar. Humayun's Tomb, the garden tomb the Taj was modelled on — worth seeing before the Taj, because the lineage becomes obvious once you have stood in both.
