Four days, and a vehicle sized to your group.
The Golden Triangle over four days rather than three, which is the difference between seeing the circuit and rushing it. Transport is a private air-conditioned car or a coach depending on group size, so this works for a family of four or a party of twelve.
Day one — Delhi
Qutub Minar, begun 1192, with the iron pillar that has not rusted in sixteen centuries. Humayun's Tomb, the garden tomb the Taj was modelled on. Old Delhi for the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. India Gate and the colonial quarter.
Day two — Agra
The Taj Mahal, with four days there is room for the sunrise slot. Agra Fort, and the Musamman Burj view across the Yamuna.
Day three — Fatehpur Sikri and Jaipur
Akbar's abandoned sandstone capital on the road west, then into Rajasthan.
Day four — Jaipur
Amer Fort and the Sheesh Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, and the bazaars. Back to Delhi.
