The 6 day Golden Triangle tour from Delhi covering Agra and Jaipur was perfectly planned. Having 6 days instead of the usual 3 meant we could explore each city properly. In Delhi we had two full days covering everything from the Red Fort to Qutub Minar. Agra was magical with the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. Jaipur was my favourite, we spent time at Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort and the vibrant Johari Bazaar. Hotels were great at every stop and the private driver was wonderful throughout.

Six days for the Golden Triangle was the perfect duration. We never felt rushed and had time for both the major monuments and lesser known gems. In Delhi our guide took us to Humayun's Tomb, the Lodhi Gardens and a wonderful street food tour in Old Delhi. The Taj Mahal at sunrise was breathtaking. In Jaipur we loved the City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory and the Albert Hall Museum. The whole trip was seamlessly coordinated with comfortable hotels and a reliable driver. Absolutley reccomend this itinerary.

Well organised 6 day tour covering Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. The extra days compared to shorter tours made the experience much more relaxed. Our guides at each city were knowledgable and professional. The drives between cities were comfortable in a clean AC car. Hotels were 3-4 star level and all adequate. My only suggestion would be to include Fatehpur Sikri in the itinerary as we had to request it separately. But overall a comprehensive and enjoyable introduction to India's most popular tourist circuit.

This 6 day Delhi, Agra and Jaipur tour was the perfect first trip to India. The longer itinerary meant we had free time for independent exploration in each city which we loved. In Delhi we wandered through Lodhi Gardens on our own, in Agra we watched sunset over the Taj from Mehtab Bagh, and in Jaipur we explored the bazaars and bought beautiful textiles. The arranged sightseeing with local guides was excellent. The driver became like a friend by the end of 6 days. Would definately book with them again.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 6-day Golden Triangle tour provides comprehensive coverage of three of India's most historically rich destinations: Delhi (Days 1–2) — Old Delhi (Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, cycle-rickshaw), New Delhi (Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate), and the colonial Lutyens' Delhi area; Agra (Days 2–3) — Taj Mahal at sunrise, Agra Fort, Mehtab Bagh, Itmad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj), and Fatehpur Sikri (Akbar's abandoned city, en route); Jaipur (Days 4–5) — Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, the Jaipur bazaars (block printing, blue pottery), and optionally Nahargarh Fort and Sisodia Rani Garden; Return to Delhi (Day 6) or departure from Jaipur airport. All hotels (5 nights), guides, entry fees, and breakfasts included.
The 3-day Golden Triangle covers the headline sites at a fast pace (one day per city). The 6-day version doubles the time in each city, transforming rushed coverage into genuine immersion: Delhi gets 2 days — enough to cover both the historic and modern city, including the colonial Lodi Garden and Humayun's Tomb neighbourhood. Agra gets 1.5–2 days — enabling the sunrise Taj Mahal visit, a separate afternoon session, all four major Agra monuments, and Fatehpur Sikri. Jaipur gets 2 days — covering the complete fort circuit, the old city bazaars, a village visit, and possibly Ranthambore day trip or Abhaneri step-well. The 6-day tour is for travellers who want to understand these cities, not just photograph them.
Yes — Fatehpur Sikri is included en route from Agra to Jaipur on Day 3 or 4. Fatehpur Sikri was Emperor Akbar's purpose-built imperial capital (1569–1585), constructed entirely in red sandstone on a rocky plateau 40 km from Agra. It is one of India's best-preserved and most striking Mughal cities — a complete royal complex of audience halls, palaces, a mosque, and a stunning gateway (Buland Darwaza, the largest mosque gateway in Asia). Most remarkably, Akbar abandoned the entire city just 14 years after completion — the reasons are debated. Your guide examines this mystery on location. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and entry is included.
The standard 6-day tour includes comfortable 4-star hotels in each city: a centrally located business or heritage hotel in Delhi (near Connaught Place or Karol Bagh), a Taj Ganj area property in Agra (Taj view preferred), and a heritage haveli or well-rated city hotel in Jaipur (old city location). Upgrade to 5-star luxury is available: Leela Palace, ITC Maurya, or The Imperial in Delhi; Oberoi Amarvilas (every room with Taj Mahal view) in Agra; Rambagh Palace, Oberoi Rajvilas, or Samode Haveli in Jaipur. The 5-star upgrade transforms the 6-day tour into a premium luxury experience worth every rupee extra.
Yes — the entire 6-day tour is 100% private. Your dedicated vehicle (and driver) covers all ground transportation between cities. A specialist guide in each city accompanies your group for all sightseeing. No other travellers are ever combined with your group at any point. This is the critical advantage of a private tour over any group coach or shared-bus option: you determine pace, request itinerary adjustments mid-tour, ask any question without group pressure, and experience every site without being herded. For a 6-day immersion, the private format is the only one that allows genuine flexibility and personalisation.
Yes — Ranthambore National Park (home to Bengal tigers and UNESCO-listed medieval fort) is 175 km from Jaipur and 280 km from Agra. Adding 2 nights at Ranthambore between Agra and Jaipur extends the tour to 8 days and adds one of India's best wildlife experiences to the cultural circuit. Morning and afternoon tiger safaris in open Gypsy jeeps produce extraordinary wildlife sightings — Ranthambore has a high tiger density and visibility rate. See our Ranthambore full-day tour for day-trip details, or the 8-day extension for the full Ranthambore experience.
Day 1: Delhi hotel check-in (arrival), first Delhi sightseeing afternoon. Day 2: Full Delhi day (Old Delhi morning, New Delhi afternoon). Evening drive to Agra (3.5 hours). Day 3: Taj Mahal sunrise, Agra Fort, Mehtab Bagh, lunch in Agra. Afternoon drive via Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur (3.5 hours). Day 4: Full Jaipur day (Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar). Day 5: Second Jaipur day (Hawa Mahal, bazaars, Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur pink city walk). Day 6: Drive Jaipur to Delhi airport (5 hours) or end tour in Jaipur. All drives use the private air-conditioned vehicle.
Daily breakfasts at hotels are included across all 5 nights. Lunches and dinners can be added to the package at a supplement, or you can arrange meals independently each day (your guide recommends specific restaurants at each stop). Most travellers prefer the flexibility of self-arranged lunches and dinners — this allows you to explore local street food, follow recommendations, and eat on your own schedule. The guide's restaurant recommendations in each city are excellent — they know the best local establishments for both quality and hygiene. Inform us of any dietary requirements so the guide can advise appropriately throughout the tour.
The 6-day Golden Triangle is an excellent family itinerary — longer durations at each city mean less rushing, more flexibility for meal breaks and rest, and time to engage children at sites they find particularly interesting without sacrificing coverage elsewhere. Highlights that children typically love: the elephant ride at Amber Fort Jaipur, the cycle-rickshaw ride through Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk, the Taj Mahal's scale and love story, the mechanical astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar, and the Agra Fort's towers. All guides are experienced with family groups and adapt commentary to engage children alongside adults.
Most international travellers require an Indian e-Visa (electronic visa), which can be applied for online at the official Indian government portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in). The e-Tourist Visa is the most common type: available for citizens of 160+ countries, valid for 30 days, 1 year, or 5 years depending on the option selected, and typically approved within 24–72 hours of application. Key requirements: a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date, a recent passport-size photograph (white background), and a return or onward flight booking. Important: the e-Visa must be obtained before departure — it cannot be obtained on arrival. Citizens of a few countries (including Japan, South Korea, and UAE) may qualify for visa-on-arrival at select Indian airports. Your tour confirmation and hotel bookings can serve as supporting documents for the visa application. We recommend applying at least 2 weeks before travel to allow for any processing delays. For detailed planning around your Delhi arrival, see our Delhi travel guide.
Yes, Delhi is generally safe for tourists, especially in popular tourist areas like Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, and around major monuments. Booking a licensed local guide through AsiaByLocals adds an extra layer of safety and local knowledge.
The Delhi Metro is the fastest and most affordable way to travel between attractions. For tour experiences, our guides arrange private air-conditioned vehicles so you can cover Old Delhi and New Delhi comfortably in one day.
For popular sites like Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and Red Fort, advance tickets are recommended to skip long queues. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, entry tickets and skip-the-line access are typically included.
Amber Fort is located 11 km from Jaipur city center, about a 20-minute drive. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, round-trip transportation from your hotel is included. You can also take an elephant or jeep ride up to the fort entrance.
Modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is recommended for temple visits. Comfortable walking shoes are essential as forts like Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort involve significant walking on stone pathways. Carry sunscreen and water, especially during summer months.
