Eight hours flew by. Our guide knew every corner of Old Delhi and told brilliant stories about Shah Jahan while we stood inside Jama Masjid. The rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk was chaotic in the best way, weaving past the spice sellers of Khari Baoli. By the time we reached Qutub Minar I felt I'd actually understood the city rather than just ticked off photos.
Fantastic value for ninety dollars. Entry tickets, a comfortable car and a guide for the whole day, plus water waiting for us in the heat. Humayun's Tomb was the surprise standout, so much quieter and grander than I expected. The driver knew exactly which gate to use to avoid queues. Would recommend to anyone with just one day in Delhi.
A genuinely great overview of Delhi and our guide was warm and patient. My only honest note is the September heat made the walking between Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar quite draining by mid-afternoon, and a couple of the later stops felt slightly rushed as a result. Start early, drink your water, and it's wonderful. The spice market alone was worth the day.
Very well organised from the hotel pickup onwards. What impressed me was how the guide handled the touts around Chandni Chowk so we could relax completely. Bangla Sahib was deeply moving, the sound of the prayers by the water stayed with me. Removing shoes at the mosque and gurdwara was no trouble. A thoughtful, respectful introduction to both faiths and both Delhis.
Did this with my parents who are in their seventies and it worked perfectly because you're driven between the sights and only walk at each one. India Gate at dusk was a lovely way to end. The guide adjusted the pace for us without making us feel like a burden. Tickets were all sorted so there was no standing in line. Highly recommend for families.
January weather was ideal, cool and clear all day. The contrast between the crush of Old Delhi's lanes and the calm gardens of Humayun's Tomb really tells you what this city is. Our guide's history at Qutub Minar was fascinating, right down to the iron pillar. Everything ran on time and the car was clean and cold. Brilliant use of a single day.
Loved the day overall and learned a huge amount. The one downside is that Chandni Chowk was incredibly crowded and a bit overwhelming, so keep your group close and your bag in front. Once past that, Raj Ghat and the Qutub Minar were peaceful and beautiful. Good guide, fair price, and the included water was a small touch that mattered in the crowds.
This tour delivered exactly what it promised and then some. Seven landmarks in one day sounds like a lot but the flow from Old Delhi in the morning to the newer monuments made complete sense. The rickshaw ride was my kids' favourite part. Photography at India Gate and Humayun's Tomb was incredible. Our guide's passion for Delhi was obvious and genuinely infectious.
