Full description

It's approx 5-hour drive from Delhi to Jaipur and the sights in Jaipur are open by 8 am. So the earlier we leave, the more we can see around Jaipur. We're ready to leave when you're. We can pick you up from anywhere in Delhi.

05:00 A.M.: Start your excursion trip as soon as our driver gets you from your place in Delhi.

10:00 A.M.: You will arrive in Jaipur and start exploring the Pink City. The pink city is famous for its rich legacy and lively culture

As soon as we arrive in Jaipur, we'll take you to Amber Fort- Golden Stronghold, a genuine wonder established in the eleventh hundred years. This structural work of art exhibits a charming mix of yellow and pink sandstone, as well as gleaming white marble. Set out on a secretly directed visit as we enter through the Sun Entryway, uncovering extravagant patios, stunningly decorated corridors, and the stunning Office of Mirrors.

Explore the marvels at Jantar Mantar, which is an old observatory with charming mathematical instruments.

Pullover at Jal Mahal ( Water Palace)- Sits in the center of a lake. While it's as of now not open to general society, this old royal residence, once utilized for duck-hunting, gives an unspoiled background to catching postcard-amazing photographs.

Then drive downtown to visit the City Palace Museum- An amicable combination of Rajasthani and Mughal design. This notable milestone brags amazing complex structures, patios, and great entryways. Remember that the current regal family actually lives in the Chandra Mahal, adding a hint of imperial tastefulness to the experience.

Then move to Hawa Mahal- Jaipur's most prestigious milestone. Built-in 1799, this engineering wonder permitted the regal women to carefully notice road parades. With its great five-story veneer decorated with 593 finely screened windows and galleries.

This fastidiously arranged schedule makes sure you take full advantage of your road trip. You will get back to Delhi with extraordinary encounters and enduring impression

Detailed Itinerary

Early Morning Departure from Delhi

Your day begins bright and early with a 6:00 AM pickup from your hotel anywhere in Delhi or the National Capital Region. You’ll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned sedan, ensuring a relaxed and pleasant journey. As you leave the bustling city behind, the drive takes you along the Yamuna Expressway, known for its smooth roads and scenic countryside views dotted with traditional villages and greenery. The 3.5-hour drive offers a peaceful transition from urban chaos to the regal charm of Rajasthan’s Pink City, Jaipur.

Discovering the Magnificent Amber Fort

Your first major stop is the magnificent Amber Fort, perched on a hill overlooking Maota Lake. This majestic fort complex is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture, blending Hindu and Mughal styles. As you explore its grand courtyards, intricate mirror work, and sprawling palaces, your local guide will share fascinating stories about its history and the lives of the Rajput rulers who once lived here. Don’t miss the Sheesh Mahal, or Mirror Palace, which dazzles with thousands of tiny glass pieces reflecting sunlight in dazzling patterns. The fort’s ramparts offer panoramic views of the surrounding Aravalli hills and Jaipur city, providing perfect photo opportunities.

Exploring Jaipur’s Cultural Heart at City Palace

Next, you’ll head to the City Palace, located in the heart of Jaipur. This royal residence is a vibrant blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, still inhabited by the descendants of Jaipur’s royal family. As you wander through its courtyards, gardens, and museums, you’ll encounter exquisite textiles, royal costumes, and ancient weapons that tell tales of Jaipur’s rich heritage. The Peacock Gate, adorned with intricate enamel work, and the Chandra Mahal, with its stunning frescoes, are highlights you won’t want to miss. Your guide will enrich your experience with insights into Jaipur’s cultural and political history.

Authentic Mughlai Lunch Experience

After immersing yourself in history and culture, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant renowned for its authentic Mughlai cuisine. Savor traditional dishes like tender kebabs, flavorful biryanis, rich curries, and freshly baked naan bread. The aromatic spices and slow-cooked delicacies will give you a taste of the culinary heritage that has influenced Rajasthan’s gastronomy over centuries. This relaxing meal offers a wonderful opportunity to recharge before the afternoon sightseeing.

Optional Stops and Flexible Itinerary

If you wish to extend your exploration, optional visits to other famous Jaipur landmarks can be arranged upon request. You might choose to visit the iconic Hawa Mahal, known as the Palace of Winds, to admire its honeycomb facade or explore the Jantar Mantar observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring remarkable astronomical instruments. Your guide will tailor the tour to your interests, ensuring you get the most out of your day in Jaipur.

Comfortable Return Journey and Practical Tips

Around 5:00 PM, you’ll depart Jaipur for the return trip to Delhi. The drive back in your air-conditioned sedan will allow you to relax after a full day of sightseeing, with drop-off at your hotel in the city. To make your experience comfortable, wear sturdy, comfortable shoes suitable for walking on uneven surfaces and steps at historic sites. Don’t forget to carry sunscreen and a hat, as Rajasthan’s sun can be quite strong, especially during midday. Staying hydrated is important, so bring a water bottle with you. Did the same day Jaipur trip from Delhi by AC car and it was a great experience. The car was clean, spacious and the AC worked perfectly which is essential in India. Our driver was professional and drove safely on the expressway, we reached Jaipur in about 5 hours. In Jaipur we visited Amber Fort, City Palace and Hawa Mahal with a local guide. Long day but absolutley worth it if you dont have time for an overnight stay.

Booked this for my visiting relatives who had just one day to see Jaipur. The AC car was comfortable for the highway drive and the driver knew the route well. We covered Amber Fort, Jal Mahal and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. The guide was good but seemed a bit rushed at Amber Fort which deserves more time. Return drive was smooth and we were back in Delhi by 10pm. Good option for those short on time but be prepared for a long day of driving.

We only had one free day and wanted to see the Pink City so this same day Jaipur tour by car was perfect. Left Delhi at 6am and reached Jaipur by 11am thanks to the new expressway. Our guide in Jaipur was fantastic and took us to all the major sites including Amber Fort where we saw the mirror palace and City Palace with its beautiful courtyards. The car had bottled water and phone chargers which was a nice touch. Got back to our Delhi hotel by 9pm.

Excellent same day tour from Delhi to Jaipur. The AC car was a Toyota Innova with plenty of legroom. The Jaipur-Delhi expressway made the drive much faster than I expected. Once in Jaipur our local guide walked us through the history of the Rajput kings at Amber Fort and then we explored the colourful streets and bazaars of the old city. Had a wonderful traditional Rajasthani thali for lunch. The whole day was seamlessly organised.

Frequently Asked Questions

The drive from Delhi to Jaipur is approximately 270 km via NH48 (Delhi-Jaipur Expressway) and takes 4.5–5 hours each way under normal conditions. The route is entirely on a well-maintained national highway and expressway, with smooth divided carriageway for most of the distance. Departure from your Delhi hotel is at 5:30–6:00 AM to arrive in Jaipur by 10:30–11:00 AM, allowing a full day of sightseeing before the return drive departing Jaipur at approximately 5:00–5:30 PM, reaching Delhi by 10:00–10:30 PM. A brief stop for tea/coffee and breakfast is made en route at a highway restaurant (approximately 30 minutes).
The day covers Jaipur's top highlights: Amber Fort (the massive 16th-century hilltop fortress — the crown jewel of Jaipur, featuring Sheesh Mahal mirror palace, Diwan-i-Khas, and panoramic views; ~1.5 hours), City Palace (the Maharaja's residence with museums, courtyards, and the famous oversized silver urns; ~1 hour), Jantar Mantar (UNESCO-listed 18th-century astronomical observatory with the world's largest stone sundial; ~30 minutes), and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds — a photo stop at the iconic pink sandstone facade; ~15 minutes). Time permitting, Jal Mahal (Water Palace, photo stop) and the vibrant Johari Bazaar for shopping are also included. For a deeper Jaipur experience, consider our Amber Fort guided tour.
A private air-conditioned sedan (Toyota Etios, Swift Dzire, or Honda Amaze) is provided for couples and solo travellers. For groups of 3–5, a Toyota Innova Crysta (6-seat SUV) is used. For groups of 6–12, a tempo traveller (12–15 seats) is arranged. All vehicles have functioning air conditioning (essential for the Rajasthan climate), comfortable seating, adequate luggage space, and USB charging ports. The same vehicle and driver are with you for the entire day — approximately 16–17 hours from morning pickup to evening drop-off. Bottled water is provided in the vehicle. The vehicle is well-maintained and highway-rated for the high-speed expressway driving.
The driver speaks basic conversational English — sufficient for pickup coordination, route questions, and restaurant recommendations. For detailed monument commentary and historical narration, a separate licensed guide in Jaipur is included in the tour package. The Jaipur guide is a Rajasthan Tourism-certified professional who meets you at the first monument (typically Amber Fort) and accompanies you through all sites, providing in-depth English commentary on the Rajput history, architecture, and cultural significance of each location. Guides speaking French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and other languages are available on request at booking.
Pickup and drop-off are at your Delhi hotel, guesthouse, or Airbnb — anywhere within Delhi NCR (National Capital Region), including Gurgaon and Noida. Airport pickup from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is also available if you're arriving on an early morning flight. The driver arrives at your location at 5:30–6:00 AM with a name board. On return, you're dropped at the same location (or a different Delhi address if needed) at approximately 10:00–10:30 PM. If you have a late-night flight, the driver can drop you directly at Delhi airport instead of your hotel — confirm this arrangement at booking.
The tour follows this timeline: 5:30–6:00 AM — pickup from your Delhi hotel. 7:30 AM — highway breakfast stop (~30 minutes). 10:30–11:00 AM — arrival in Jaipur, begin sightseeing. 11:00 AM–4:30 PM — Jaipur sightseeing with guided visits to Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, and lunch. 5:00–5:30 PM — depart Jaipur for Delhi. 10:00–10:30 PM — arrive back at your Delhi hotel. Total tour duration is approximately 16–17 hours, with 5.5–6 hours of active sightseeing in Jaipur. The early start is essential to maximize time in Jaipur given the 5-hour drive each way.
Yes — a Rajasthan Tourism-certified licensed guide is included for all Jaipur monuments. The guide meets you at the first site (typically Amber Fort around 10:30–11:00 AM) and accompanies you through the entire Jaipur sightseeing portion — approximately 5–6 hours of guided touring. The guide provides expert commentary on Rajput history, the Kachwaha dynasty, Amber Fort's construction and design, the astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar, and the significance of the Pink City designation. Without a guide, the historical depth and architectural details of Jaipur's monuments are largely inaccessible. The guide also assists with entry tickets and navigating crowded areas.
Yes — all entry tickets are included: Amber Fort (₹100 Indian / ₹500 foreign nationals), City Palace (₹200/₹500), Jantar Mantar (₹50/₹200), and Hawa Mahal (₹50/₹200). A composite ticket covering Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, and Albert Hall Museum is available for ₹100/₹1,000 — your guide arranges whichever option provides the best value for your itinerary. Camera fees at all monuments are also included. The total ticket value for foreign nationals is approximately ₹1,400–₹2,000, all pre-purchased so you skip the ticket queues.
One day covers Jaipur's essential highlights comprehensively — Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal are all within a compact area of the old city and can be visited thoroughly in 5–6 hours. However, Jaipur has much more to offer beyond the core sites: Nahargarh Fort (sunset views), Albert Hall Museum, Jaigarh Fort (home to the world's largest cannon on wheels), the bazaars of Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, and the step wells of Chand Baori (95 km outside Jaipur). For travellers with more time, an overnight stay in Jaipur is recommended. For a multi-day experience, consider the Golden Triangle tour from Delhi.
Yes — all toll charges, parking fees, and fuel costs are included in the tour price. The Delhi-Jaipur Expressway has multiple toll plazas totalling approximately ₹800–₹1,000 in toll charges (round trip). Parking fees at Amber Fort, City Palace, and other Jaipur monuments are approximately ₹100–₹200 per site. Driver meals, overnight allowance, and state permits (required for vehicles crossing state borders from Delhi to Rajasthan) are all included. There are no hidden costs — the quoted price is fully inclusive of vehicle, driver, fuel, tolls, parking, guide, entry tickets, and all applicable taxes. Lunch is the only item typically paid separately.
Absolutely — the Jaipur same-day tour pairs perfectly with Delhi sightseeing on adjacent days. Many travellers do the Delhi full-day guided tour on Day 1 (covering Old Delhi and New Delhi) and the Jaipur same-day trip on Day 2. Another popular combination is this Jaipur tour followed by the Taj Mahal superfast train tour on the next day — covering all three Golden Triangle cities as day trips from Delhi without needing to change hotels. For a guided Delhi overview with shopping, see our Delhi guided shopping tour.
Yes, Delhi is generally safe for tourists, especially in popular tourist areas like Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, and around major monuments. Booking a licensed local guide through AsiaByLocals adds an extra layer of safety and local knowledge.
The Delhi Metro is the fastest and most affordable way to travel between attractions. For tour experiences, our guides arrange private air-conditioned vehicles so you can cover Old Delhi and New Delhi comfortably in one day.
For popular sites like Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and Red Fort, advance tickets are recommended to skip long queues. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, entry tickets and skip-the-line access are typically included.
Amber Fort is located 11 km from Jaipur city center, about a 20-minute drive. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, round-trip transportation from your hotel is included. You can also take an elephant or jeep ride up to the fort entrance.
Modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is recommended for temple visits. Comfortable walking shoes are essential as forts like Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort involve significant walking on stone pathways. Carry sunscreen and water, especially during summer months.
Yes, all three can be covered in a full-day guided tour. Our Jaipur city tours are designed to cover these major attractions efficiently with an experienced local guide who knows the best routes and timing to avoid crowds.
