Der Taj bei Sonnenaufgang als Tagesausflug ab Delhi heißt, mitten in der Nacht aufzubrechen. Eine Nacht in Agra nimmt das vollständig heraus und gibt Delhi einen eigenen richtigen Tag statt einer Durchfahrt.
Tag eins, Delhi
Der Qutub Minar, 1192 begonnen, mit der Eisensäule daneben, die sechzehn Jahrhunderte im Freien gestanden hat, ohne zu rosten. Das Humayun-Mausoleum, das erste mogulische Gartengrab und das direkte Vorbild des Taj, und es lohnt sich, es am Tag vor dem Taj zu sehen, weil die Linie offensichtlich wird, sobald man in beiden gestanden hat. Alt-Delhi für das Rote Fort, die Jama Masjid und Chandni Chowk. Das India Gate und die kolonialen Alleen.
Dann die Fahrt nach Agra und die Übernachtung.
Tag zwei, Agra
Der Taj Mahal bei Sonnenaufgang, von einem Hotel zwanzig Minuten entfernt. Das Gelände ist am leersten, und der Marmor läuft von grau über rosa zu weiß, während die Sonne dahinter aufgeht.
Das Agra Fort nach dem Frühstück, wo der Musamman Burj über die Yamuna hinweg auf das Grabmal blickt. Dann zurück nach Delhi.
